Yes, I read the article on the front page of the paper. I'm trying to find it here on-line. The headline is there but 'clicking' only takes you to this story. Wanted to post it on FB but it's not here.

Took my husband almost 10 MONTHS (!) to get his British passport renewed, and that was applying early. Sent everything registered mail to the UK from Nassau and what an experience that was. Lost/missing and even with an ID# and Skype calls back 'n forth long time before he finally had it in his hands.

$200? Sounds like quite a 'business' you've got going down there Mr. Foreign Affairs. Why do the job you're supposed to be doing when you can charge someone an outrageous fee?

SMT!

Lady was already buried so I guess police made their findings and case is closed.

Where is the article "VAT On Bridge Toll Fees Delayed"?

Typical PLP move. Didn't they question the mental state of someone else who was opposing them recently? Can't make this stuff up. After a week of this ridiculous back-n-forth why is the PLP still the government?

Sorry MP Mitchell but this just shows how much the Bahamians were out of their league. Who does a business deal thinking the other guys are looking our for them? Really?! They're looking out for themselves! Obviously stupidly fooled by people from a polite culture who like to 'save face'. Business is about backstabbing. You let your guard down, and see what happens?

You don't see anyone using the transponder lane because they've already driven through while people are waiting in the 'cash only' lanes. My husband has a transponder provided by his job on PI. At first it was a wallet-sized device that just sat on the dashboard and was movable from car to car. A few years ago transponders were upgraded; it's now similar to a thin magnetic (?) strip that is mounted to the car's front window and can't be switched from car to car.

Why didn't they keep the fee @ $1, the same way the daily newspapers remained @ $1 even with VAT? Adding VAT just makes Bahamians feel this is someplace else in our own country 'they' don't want us to 'go to'. They may not have a reason to drive over there, but making it $1.08 angers people for more than one reason.

The Bahamian public should DEMAND that PM Christie resign since he doesn't seem to have the decency to do it on his own. Disgraceful. Take his no-good cabinet with him too. Other countries would have dragged them into the street by now, and it would not have been a pretty sight. How could you be "blindsided"?! You're in charge and should know what going on all the time. i am so NOT impressed with these people. Lousy!
