I wish the media would stop talking to Leslie Miller about any technical issues at BEC. He knows nothing about generators, wires, electricity or how a power plant actually works. Just because he's the Chairman doesn't mean he actually KNOWS anything. What happen to Basden?
Anyone else notice more Bahamians migrating? I know of at least 12 people in the last 2-3 months. Used to be unheard of, now seems like if they have the opportunity, people are getting out of this madness.
From PM Christie down, everyone involved in this mess should be FIRED because none of them will resign on their own--and PM "Give-Them-A-2nd-Chance" Christie won't fire anyone therefore nothing will happen, nothing will change. Like an ostrich, he believes if he sticks his head and ignores the problem it will go away (because the people will forget). Sad.
My daughters got their first passports when they were newborns. Go down to the Passport Office and you will see many parents waiting in line with their newborns, toddlers and small children. Bahamians like having a passport, so I don't know what foolishness he is talking about. Guess he didn't wait on line for his. Hhmmmm.
This accident occurred sometime after 8pm on Saturday night, not 10pm. I was taking my daughter and her classmate to a high school pay-party not far from Treasure Cove and we came face to face with a very smashed up white car. At least 2 people lying on the grass, a scooter and I heard another car was across the street almost up a tree. Lots of people everywhere. Didn't see any police or ambulance when we were driving by; maybe the accident has JUST happened. More likely around 8:15-8:30, but definitely not 10pm.
Agree with you 1000%! Females can be their own worse enemy. I doubt if any male politician is interested in pushing any gender equality referendum and many Bahamians, male & female, don't see what the big deal is anyway. Extremely frustrating when you DO NOT think like most of the population
On a similar note, look at Long Island MP Loretta Butler-Turner's effort to be elected as leader of the FNM recently. Her win would have shown that there was some hope for new thought/ideas in not only the FNM, but politics in general in the Bahamas. She lost the vote and her position as Deputy Leader Now we rarely hear her strong voice, though I was glad to hear her recently. Another case of putting the female 'in her place'? You decide..
