Seems applicants for the police force need to be vetted better before they are accepted to join. Two instances right here of young officers behaving badly, a constable 22 and reservist 26. Very impressed with the father who brought charges against the mother of his 15 year old daughter, instead of looking the other way at her relationship with the 26 year old. Even more impressed with the case making it to court and the public seeing what can happen; mother on bail and child now in state custody. Maybe the public can learn from someone else's poor decision.

MP Mitchell is 'talkin' fool' ("a very serious ting"). This is all just a big distraction to take the pressure off of the recent referendum, PM Christie and any other PLP foolishness. He cannot seriously believe that now is the time to build a new Parliament building or increase the salaries/pensions of MPs and Senators! If it is cramped and uncomfortable maybe that's a sign that there are too many of them in the building and on the payroll. Get out and find something else to do.

Fifty-five?! Fifty-five is not elderly--unless you're a 20 or 30-something writer, I guess. Eighty-five is elderly. Sheesh...

Always wondered if these places have proper security. All the latest technology and how is it secured? Same with the schools. Someone is always donating computers etc. to these centres/schools, followed by a press release and photo op in the papers. Just let the would-be robbers know what you have.

As a Bahamian woman married to a non-Bahamian man going on 25 years I'm glad to read this letter and note that I'm not along in this observation. Supporters of the Yes/No crowds very vocal talking about discrimination, their rights etc. but what about discrimination against the FEMALE segment of the population? This is sad.

At least the PM didn't give the position to the former PLP candidate for Montagu and son-in-law of the people behind arawak homes.

Couldn't the comments of PM Christie and the officer in charge on tv (I forget his name) make it difficult for a person who might be charged in this crime, to get an unbiased trial? Media people, please be careful what you release. I know everyone wants the 'scoop' on the story but this is how cases get thrown out.

JohnDoe, I agree with you 1000%! Like you say based on their logic we might has well legalize prostitution, drug running, gun running, human trafficing etc. Every time someone says legalize this gambling because people do it 'anyway' I think, people do all all these other things too, should we legalize them 'anyway'? 'Anyway' is not a good enough reason for me.

What a pile of rubbish! Why would someone from the South Florida area want to travel to Bimini to see the 'South Beach' look when all they have to do is stay home and drive to Miami? Why not consider a Fountain of Youth, Ernest Hemingway connection or even a big game fishing theme that Bimini is known for? Think people, think!
