Once had a Marketing Director whose famous sayings was" what look like, smell like, feel like but Isn't -something for free!). A small portion of the inflated cost of importing foreign products and the sale profits from within our country is given back and is our money made to look like charitable gifts for influence payback. These funds are not their money, Believe It or not! Do you see how many foreign local businesses just keep popping up anywhere in the ghettos. not to mention, like magic licenses just continue to be granted whenever, wherever.
This is a distraction, and the MEDIA fell for it hookline and sinker, the Grand Lucayan political Rally did not yield the praise from the public that was expected, as the selected speakers all gave our PM praise verbalizing that he was the best thing since slice bread (election time near and they sounded desperate for a piece of the political pie). The question is: after all these high-level discussions in Washington with the USA movers and shakers we still don't know the name of the High-level politician allegedly involved giving the clear and unobstructed approval to foreign cartels for a fee of $2,000,000.00 per shipment to transport Illegal drugs through the Bahamas facilities to the USA? to weed out corruption that has held our nation captive for far too long! The Media is good at reporting the headlines but will not never ever seek the conclusions. It probably is just our passive way of life, No??
No one admitted to knowing anything about the $183,000,000.00 contract to a Cabinet members family to repair an eight-mile stretch of road in Eight Mile Rock either?? and seriously, that HOA signing for the transfer of the Grand Lucayan Property was a citizen paid for Political Election Campagne party with foreign players for benefits if I have every heard one,. did not hear " SALE" or definately "purchase? in all the Praise for the "New Day"
wonder if that was before he disobeyed the Bahamian Citizens referendum that said "NO" to the " Web Shops Boys" beings granted legal status to Sucker the poorest destitute citizens of their hard earned (not enough monies to put food on the table for their families) wages. Since that Bahamian Benefit, how many of those free Hams and Turkeys have been given out, and " due they pay V.A.T.?? or consultancy fees?? Good to hear he think that he did something good for the Bahamians people. Do the people in the constituency that he represented for 40 years, have running water and toilets in their homes yet??
The Bahamas has been government by CRISIS management for 51 years, Ill-prepared for devastated Hurricanes and currently Fires on New Providence and our family Islands. It appears that our governments are elected and provide mostly for a group of certain Political Party individuals and not the collective Bahamian citizens. This is evident by the way our senior citizens ( many of whom have sacrificed and paved the way for the current politicians) and our children, the future leaders of our nation) are treated. By most estimates, a nation of only 400,000 people and we cannot provide the necessary equipment to safeguard our health and homes wellbeing is shameful and a textbook example of lousy leadership and corruption. Every year we celebrate our independence with extravagant events and every day dying from Health issues and homes being destroyed for the lack of BASIC needs. we are moving, unfortunately, not, upward Onward Forward Together!
Common sense and human logic would suggest that what type of Investor(s) would purchase a tourist resort property for millions of dollars without a properly functional airport for the guest's arrivals and processing to sustain their business for a profitable return on their investment(s). This scene has been repeated TOO many times before. Show the deposited cheque and the monies in our treasury, please!!
In listening and watching most of the Bahamian media (Journalist are more like "entertainers" ) only interested in a paycheck for the week, because with the exception of one fine female newspaper editor) they seem more interested in kissing Politicians as* 's for political favours than doing their due diligence and knowing what the truthful answers should be before asking the questions and press the politicians for the answers that make logical sense for the subject matter to report to the citizens with the truthful facts and Intelligent information. Citizens deserve the Truth and not SCAMS!!. Lets move forward!!!
So right on. Since the birth of the nation, it's a known fact among real Bahamians that if you are not a supporter of the current government, your government job is in Jeopardy for five years. The right person to do the job and make progress for our nation is out of the reality and instead prioritize the employment unqualified political party members. T his circle is repeated every five years. Why do we the need to question why our nation is stuck in stagnation and corruption.
Why would you pay supposedly large sums of money to dump Toxic debris and then pay to clean it up?? Seriously?? That not the way business make money make money for their Shareholder, shareholders!!
