It was Papa who in 2010 took away the National Insurance Pension Income of thousand of old age pensioners in passing laws increasing the amounts of contributions from what was initially mandated in 1967. Instead of passing his law effective the date of his law (2010) he made it retroactive to 1967, thus taking income from Bahamians. I hope that another similar law will be passed that would effect many more Bahamian old pensioners.

There is no excuse for allowing however to come into the Bahamas to effect the number one industry without the Ministry being in control. According to recent news on the internet already $100 million law suit filed.

Not to mention that the Honorable Minister was a lead negotiator in the Baha Mar sealed deal. Also stated the $100,000,000.00 V.A.T concessions was not a lot of money.
Obvious major problems with numbers and percentages.

Candia Dames is to be commended for representing the voice of the Bahamian people in getting answers from the current government members on issues affecting everyday life in the Bahamas ( normally performed by the political opposition) . I was a proud Bahamian listening to her on the radio show as she very professionally and respectfully questioned and exposed the untruths spoken by the Minister. Listening to the show here in South Florida one could feel the heat being generated and the voice crackling in the answers. Keep up the great work Ms Dames, we need a lot more media professionals like you who see the truth and accountability from the government irregardless of the political party.

The stated VAT income of $1billion, Stated cost for Hurricanes damages $400 million, do the math, explain where is the difference????. why does the government have to borrow funds to cover the Hurricanes damages that resulted in the Bahamas credit rating by the major rating agencies to the current rating of "junk " status, just like the words coming out of our politicians mouths. seriously??/

The good people of Long Island will be the final authority on who will be representing the great Constituency of Long Island in the coming general election and not Sidney Collie, Hubert Minnis or the Central Council. The Intended purpose of the letter was completely over looked and evaded. Replacing one dictator with several dictators is not in the best interest of the Bahamian people.

Mrs. Butler-Turner has the opinion that the Leader of the FNM is a weak leader and has taken the action to support her principles and vision for the Bahamas and Bahamians. Real born and raised Long Islanders have always supported individuals who are willing to take action to support their principles. Let be real, if a party (any party) nominate a candidate, who does not live in and among their constituency is really not interesting representing the people of that constituency but only in becoming a government. When you have a weak leader, you are always going to have an Individual or group of individuals that will try to seize leadership power. In a government it can only mean continued chaos and indecisions.

Bahamians are to accustomed to Party's and Partying. The two Political Party's have proven over and over again that they are incapable of Leading the Bahamas and Bahamian to a better life and existence because party's instead of capable elected individuals are governing the country McCartney and Butler-Turner are seeing the vision on what it take to move the Bahamas and Bahamians forward to a better future. They are taking action instead offering idle talk and plans as the status quo of political party's. embrace the change and lets all move forward.
