Every night that Bahamians go to bed it seem like they have experienced a tragedy worse than the day before. Why have elections if those that the majority of the people elect to safeguard their lives and best interest feel that they have won a Beauty contest and all they have to go is shake hands and kiss babies. It is a sad state of affair when those leaders can go to bed at night and realize that a firetruck is sitting on blocks or no Medical doctor of professional is available to save and protect human life. when is enough is enough Bahamians!!!!
Any Bahamian contributor to National Insurance looking to be able to retire with any lengthy assistance is living in fantasy land. Just like "Papa" did in 2011,( and screwed me out of my retirement funds) the government will retroactively implement a 55 year qualifying period in order to be eligible to claim retirement, knowing that the fund would have long disappeared.
If the suggested new Hurricane taxes are temporarily avoided, it is because of the upcoming general election in May 2017. The " Cat has been let out of the bag". If the present government is re-elected the possibility for this suggested new taxes plus additional taxes are a very high. The Bahamas is subject to Hurricanes such a Matthew at any time and obviously a lot more planning and preparedness is in dire need. All political parties should be addressing their plans to handle such an event and possible Health problems that might arise from such events.
With these estimates of this and that, our national rating should be AAA. Maybe the commission should be speaking to these ratings agencies. seriously!!!
Could this be V.A.T. Bahamian funds to insure the New Buyer that the transfer of ownership will be free of any and all Liens for work completed prior to signing any documents to take ownership and responsibility for this property. To date there is no evidence that these funds came from the current owner of this property.
Hopefully the candidates chosen will be upstanding proven successful family persons that are among the people in their daily lives and reside in the constituency nominated for and not just wealthy individuals looking to buy a nomination to increase their wealth on the backs of the Bahamian people. The Nation will be watching and voting for candidates that will make a positive change and TRUE representation in their community/ constituency and for all the Bahamas. Jokers will not do.
