Agree. Government & Exec Board have made bad decisions for short sighted political gains that have undermined NIB for the past 20 years. Ingraham was the main culprit that started this downward slide.

Kicking the can down the road, while trying "to be all things to everyone" has placed NIB in this bad state of affairs. NIB retires its staff at 60, now it wants everyone else to work until 67. The plush senior executive salaries and perks is a contradiction to what it is now preaching.

NIB needs to clean house and be more accountable before Bahamians can buy the request to hike our deductions to over 20% by mid 2030s.

We (ordinary Bahamians) have no one to blame but ourselves.

We are hooked on rbc & bns. We don't trust our local banks or credit unions. Now, the letter writer is advocating for USA banks to take over domestic banking. That won't happen. Our track record for savings, credit ratings & defaults will not attract them. Our population is too small and our banking culture will not be kind to USA banks.

We have the choice of where we bank. Truth is that only 10% of Bahamians really have much savings or business leverage that can influence these foreign banks, and it is the 10% that the banks really care about and cater too.

Our Government is in bed with the Canadian/foreign banks, so it is in no position to call them out. Just look at the operation of BOB. The ordinary Bahamian is on his/her own. Don't expect much to change to the status quo.

Revenge and contract killings are turning NP into a war zone that is worst than Yemen ....... When will the Govt declare a state of emergency???

This is what Munroe should be concerned about ..... Not a Long Island bye-election (that will never happen).

If the 242 Govt was to incentivize & allow every NP private home to purchase & use solar energy and get off oil, we will save this country $1 billion of FX each year.

Govt can start by weaning every FI off BPL by 2030.

But, there are too many special interests keeping that from becoming a reality.

Jack Thompson & Leslia Brice dem bragging about the "party" events ..... But after the party, what will remain for our ppl to be proud of?

Our Government is out of touch with reality ...... Ppl like Spence Finlayson on ZNS are missing the chance to ask our leaders the hard questions about the true value & meaning of Independence to the 700 islands.

I agree with Pintard.

If it was not approved in the 2022 Budget, it is not constitutional.

The PM cannot make unilateral decisions. This is still a country that is based on the Constitution.
