There are already two building codes in this country. One for Bahamians and one for non-Bahamians. The shanty towns and seaside dune villas/condos etc speak for itself. Doubt if a Sears code will change that.
I agree with the writer ............... we have too many political persons (elected, P&P, & appointed) in Government who filibuster and frustrate the system, then complain that the system is broken ........... Who do they serve??????????
Then we wonder why we seem to be going to hell in a handbasket .......... Who will suffer???????
The PLP (or Davis) has no credibility on this topic ........... they killed the 2002 Ingraham referendum and they tried to push a token "citizenship" referendum under Christie ......... They use women in politics and many of these same PLP politicians exploit women in society as sweethearts and baby mamas.
So, his words ring hollow .......... He should put his money where his mouth is ............ Bring a (bi-partisan) referendum to change the Constitution
**Your future is in your hands** ............ Sounds catchy, but there are "hands" squeezing around every youth's neck from the day they were born .......... deadbeat dads, child molesters, dysfunctional family/homes, drug pushers, gun toters, poverty, negative peer pressure, crappy schools/teachers, cold communities, uncaring pastors ............... and the list goes on.
I do agree that it doesn't look right for these political cronies to get fat off other people's pain and donations, but the PLP will do it too .......... nema, dra and all of the other agencies will not be disbanded by the PLP .......... That is why we must say hats off to Red Cross & BASRA (true volunteers)
Every new Govt does the same thing ..... Will end the same way. Money paid out, no one held responsible and no recovery of excess contract monies. So why filibuster and end up back at Square1????

Why do we do this to the people who "volunteer" to take on these national leadership roles???
Do you think that the average Joe or Jane Doe will want to be in their shoes???
Now, if there is tomfoolery going on ......... it should be investigated.
But the frenzied media and the "hater" political groups make more drama out of these things than is truly necessary.
