Very true. ..... So how can we groom some alternative prospects that won't be offensive and can really become nation builders? ...... Is that even possible anymore???
Go do your research ............ Groves and his foreign cronies were all crooks AND the Bay Street Boys who were part of the HCA deal in 1955. The PLP should have rescinded this deal from Day One, now it is a millstone hanging around ALL of our necks.
The HCA and GBPA are now just fleecing the Bahamian Government .......... All of the glitter is long gone with the deaths of Hayward and St. George.
Fweddy seems to act as if he answers to no one ........ Does he respect the PM and his Cabinet colleagues? ........... This is his third time around as Cabinet Minister and having responsibility for the Public Service Commission ......... Who is he fooling? He has done very little to change anything with the PSC, General Orders or right-sizing the workforce. Just blah, blah, blah
**Warning that The Bahamas has “been down this road before”, he suggested that corporate and personal income taxes, or a combination of both, may not be the best model for this nation to adopt given that the tax burden would again likely fall on the middle and lower income classes.**
Is James Smith speaking as a financial expert or a politician???????
What road did lower/middle class Bahamians travel with corporate or personal income taxes??
All they got was VAT because the rich politicians do not want to tax themselves and their cronies. But that VAT well is coming up dry as more of the so-called middle class is getting dragged down into the poverty ditch ......... Social welfare has to be paid for as well.
You are not taking into consideration the 2000 and 2008 financial crises and the Dorian/Covid whammy ........ Then the four "five year election cycles" that tried to spend or teef their way in or out of power
The Bahamas is at the point of no return to the "good ole days" (pre-2000)
