Fweddy needs to remember that it was the PLP during better times (2002-07, (2012-17) that continued to borrow and run up the debt.
The FNM were in power for all three financial shocks to our economy in the past 20 years. What did the PLP do in their 10 years when they continued to run up the debt?
Will they run up the debt in the next 5 years, even though the FNM had to weather Dorian & Covid? We shall see ......
Look at the great USA .......... their Republic is now broken. Only about 10 states determine any election of the President. Most of the MPs sit in gerrymandered constituencies. The tiny states (population) have the most power in the Senate and the Senators hold the balance of power in the Government.
Can we handle such a Republic system as in the USA? Or will we just depend on the MPs to select a President for all of us (as done in Barbados)?????? ........... Do citizens have much choice, either way?
ThisisOurs ........ 1. The PM uses Board appts to give out special favours to MPs......... 2. The PM uses these Board appts to keep MPs in line or quiet on controversial matters or else they are fired ............ 3. The PM will grant special PEPs a Board appt if there are "extras"
So, these appointments have more to do with favours to MPs or PEPs, rather than how qualified they are to run a corporation, board or authority .......... It's all about the ka-ching & power
P.S. .......... Name 5 public corporations that were efficiently run by Govt in the past
The system as defined by the Constitution has made us a glorified dictatorship, moreso than a monarchy. That is far more troubling ...... Pindling was very shrewd

A minority of Bahamians try to save, but her stats are wayyyy off from Bahamian reality. Did she even think about our cost of living and that most Bahamians earn less than 20K per year????
