Banks pulling out of the Out Islands are a combination of declining business/personal accounts activity, increasing operating costs, numbers houses competition and preference for online services by HQ. All Out Islands are in the same boat. Even Central Bank wants to get rid of cash. A difficult reality to swallow for many of the ppl. We need to focus on other alternatives instead of looking backwards.

As far as the other infrastructure is concerned, the island enjoyed 20 years under the FNM out of the last 30 years, so more could have been done by the four FNM MPs and this chief councillor. More cooperation and ingenuity would have yielded more ...... So be it.

What is worse in 242? Spousal "rape" or infidelity? Most of our leaders are so hypocritical as they know full well that they are living double standards as married men. While there may be occasions where a husband and wife may disagree on intimacy, adultery is rife in our society. That should be a far greater talking point by politicians and the Church.

sheeprunner12 says...

We expected this nonsense from the PLP. They just wanted brownie points over the FNM. What if the ppl just go wild and pay NO attention to this law? Then what?

Darville is a real joker ....... Big talker, no substance

Every Bahamian politician has a COI because most are millionaires and are vested in some financial entity. Lawyers, merchants, doctors, realtors, accountants etc are all vested in our economy. So, who can really say that there is no COI? ...... On both sides of the aisle

The unions will fight like hell NOT to give up any advantages/rights that they have. The Govt did make the promise of "free testing", but we all know that was unsustainable. So, Sands will have to pull his strings to get out of that.

It is said that you judge a society by how it treats its elderly, children, and its animals. We (242) are failing.

There are many Litrells in our country who don't care a flying F**K about the ordinary Bahamian. Our social elite will continue to live their "best life" while 80% of the people are either drowning in debt or dying in poverty. It's a cold reality.

sheeprunner12 says...

You have a point, but how did Bahamians become "sheep"? ....... It started with PLP falsehoods after 1967.

Now that most Bahamians accept that their politicians know what is best for them, the country has gone to the dogs. The 242 politicians care about their interests more than the general public. That is our demise.
