What other options did the PLP have? Without EO, there had to be a law put in place. The only issue is whether it will be enforced as much as the EO. There are some issues with handling private businesses vs Govt depts, but we will have to see how proactive the PLP will be when these laws are challenged or ignored.
The Government has so many issues to deal with ....... Dogs, cats, children, pedophiles, vagrants, hurricanes, ocean, forests, Covid, banks, schools, churches, IMF ..... It's exhausting. What will The People assist with to ease the Govt load????
That is what is so scary about Munroe. It is time for the Bahamian Court of Appeal to be our final Appellate Court for our country's criminal matters. This crime against Bella surely qualifies as a "worst of the worst".
How much more debt will Halkitis & his merry band hang around the necks of Bahamians in the next 5 years? How will this PLP Cabinet be any more fiscally responsible than previous governments? Will this government be able to meet its short term fiscal obligations (2-3 years) without putting more taxes on the lower & middle class Bahamians? ....... Halkitis is quiet on that.
Is that tracking system foolproof? How will unsuspecting people know who is an offender? Will the police be forthcoming with "off limits" zones for the tracked sexual predators? What if the offender removes the tracking device?
Most of those making decisions in MOE/Unions do not have any children of their own OR their children/grands are in private schools ....... So there is no vested interest about the public school children. Just rhetoric and flame throwing to get brownie points. It is a sad situation that is happening
Do you have any clue of the glorified system of local government that presently exists in the Out Islands? That template can't do much to teach anyone how to be a MP.
