Promises (of audits) are a comfort to fools .......... all 400,000 of us Bahamians.

It is time that the public stand up and let the 39+16 Legislators know that we are not fools ........... Can ONE Legislator (aka Competent Authority) have that much power over the other 54??? ........ Surely, the GG cannot be held responsible for this abuse of power, or can he??????????

Anyone ever looked at the configuration of the NP constituencies??? ....... A super gerrymandering job that makes those boundaries look worst than those in the USA

Just create blocks using main roads and stop cutting them through alleys and backroads

Having the ability for a party to win the Government by just winning New Providence is creating the inequity in our country's politics ......... We have NO Senate (US style) to protect the interests of the Out Islands.

No need to add any more seats ......... Every extra seat (over 39) will add TENS of millions to the burden placed on the Budget ......... The illusion that our MPs have so much "work" is laughable when they are only representing about 5,000 voters (each), as compared to a US Congressman who represents about 50,000 voters

Answer the man (Emilio) .......... Would the PLP (Christie or Davis) have done any better??? ............ 2017-present???????

sheeprunner12 says...

The civil service is not the problem ......... it is the political elite who run this country without a LONG term plan ........ They run it in 5 year cycles, and after 20 years of doing that we are going NO where but down ....... The country needs a shift in political thinking ...... But, the People elect the politicians ......... So, it's a "rock or hard place" situation ......... 2022 will be the last chance to save the future of this country (Minnis or Davis) ...... Scary

Take away the 25,000 civil servants (out of a 200,000 labour force) ........ and see how well the country will work ............ You criticize, but have NO solutions.

sheeprunner12 says...

The civil service is not bloated ......... there is just a poor use of human resources, no succession planning and excessive hiring of unskilled workers ........... It needs serious overhaul & reform

There is the need to hire (or train) more skilled workers ..... Why have thousands of clerks and janitresses, when there are no middle managers and technical persons?

Then, there is the problem of having 40-year career (old) bosses that frustrate and discourage the millennials from making meaningful careers in the civil service.

sheeprunner12 says...

Just unbelievable that no one ever sees or knows any warning signs about the perps or the bullied ......... until this happens ........ their peers, parents, teachers, admin, community all asleep at the wheel and nobody observing the festering situation??????

Or ........... are the teens really that good at keeping all of this a secret from everyone??????

These boys (on both sides of the tragedy) didn't just wake up that day with (bad) intentions ........ it took days, weeks or months of stewing, vibing, or plotting to get to this point.

On It’s so very hard...they just kill him

Ms. Wallace should be on a party ticket ............ If not, why not?????

She is so brilliant ............. (Tongue in cheek)

sheeprunner12 says...

Poor people are "taxed out" .......... But the special interests are protected by their political cronies to keep their wealth secure and untaxed ......... Corporate tax and natural resources tax alone will yield a lot of revenue for the Government, but there is either a reluctance or NO vision to touch it ........ The Government is just lazy and continues to tax gas, VAT, departure, and customs, without doing the right thing and going after the billions of dollars that pass through offshore banks each year (alone).

sheeprunner12 says...

The RICH elite benefit from the unholy Quieting Titles Act ....... They run the political and economic interests in the country (including Parliament)

Who will support the politicians if they take away the control of property & commerce from the RICH elite (black & white Bahamians)
