Women have never played a major role in any of the three major political parties in the Bahamas ......... Pindling had almost none in his Cabinet or other high offices (Dame Doris?) ........... Ingraham made some strides (Speaker, GG, Ministers, & Senate ...... Christie had a few (if you count Mother & Lady P) ............ Minnis has regressed, even though MORE women vote than men ......... Take a gender poll of the Central Councils of each party.

Bahamians look at other countries where women rule (like Finland & New Zealand) and fail to understand that the homegeneous and developmental nature of those societies are totally different from ours .......... Women are strong at the grassroots/home/church level, but tend to be subdued at the higher echelons of social power in our country ....... Matriarchal homes give way to patriarchal rulership

This commonage land goes back to slavery days ........... No Govt can just overrule that.

Eleuthera and Exuma have unique land arrangements that Govts must respect ........ PLP and UBP did nothing to reimburse the people, so its up to the FNM to right a 60 year old wrong.

I agree with Dawes ........... the systems in this country do not assist the poor vulnerable and deprived in society .......... Doctors, lawyers & accountants are the professional "teflon dons" and most others are left to the wolves.

The sad truth is that for the past two Governments, at least HALF of the Ministers brought "nothing to the table" and simply drained the Treasury
