What about Albany, Treasure Cove, Treasure Cay, Exuma Cays, Cape Santa Maria, Chub Cay, Bimini Bay, South Abaco, Briland ........ etc????? .............. Where are the studies on their socio-economic impact???
Only teachers were at school .......... why are commenters suggesting that students were on campus? ................. Our people are very unconcerned about public education, but if a real solution is not found, how will most public school students get a "quality" education based on our present written exam based system????
If there is NO real national strategy or solution to divesting the 80% of the population of the country off New Providence, then this country's development is really doomed.
Either develop the Family Islands OR re-settle the least populated islands (south of New Providence) and lease them to the highest bidder (USA, Israel or China) to develop .................(any other solutions?)
How is the Bahamian Government facilitating ANYONE getting off the hotel plantation???? ............. Political talk is cheap, but new opportunities are few and far between. Most hotel workers have few other options that can create niche self-employment. A severance package may feed that person or family for a few months ....... then what??????
