Based on what Santander is saying .......... the New Day government is engaged in serious "kangaroo economics" when it comes to balancing the budget.

That is nice for saying that it is a lot of "Brave bullshit talk"

How does a Bahamian Government/Cabinet debate a budget in May/June that does not take effect until July 1 .......... and then they do not have the hard copy financial records for three months of the previous budget cycle??? That alone is just simply crazy Math.

So, they only have hard copy records for three quarters (July to March) .......... they project what the final quarter statistics will be for the last quarter (April to June) .......... then they use these "ghost figures" to stand up in Parliament and talk all kinds of garbage and make all kinds of promises.

No wonder that our country has a national budget of $12 billion and there is NO accountability when it comes to our national/MOF finances. Everything is based on "projections".

Most Out Island airports still bear the relics of the UBP infrastructure ........ Public buildings, be it schools, clinics, airports, docks, roads or admin offices are either lacking, obsolete, under-utilized, or in serious disrepair.

It is a crying shame that the black majority PLP & FNM governments have only whitewashed the relics instead of developing the islands over the past 60 years.

If a political party cannot conduct free and fair internal elections ............ can you imagine what will happen when it is running the national government?????

We have already seen the kangaroo elections within the PLP ......... now the Pintard-led FNM seems to be going down the same rabbit hole.

The democratic processes in 242 are slowly but surely been eroded to a point where it cannot be seen as espousing Westminster principles of fairness and integrity in governance.

Porcupine ............ I don't know where you reside in the 242.

However, I can feel your pain.

For an Out Islander (because Nassau doesn't treat us as Family), services by BTC, Cable, banks & the other SOEs are declining by the year. Just consider Bahamasair cost of tickets increase in the past 3 years.

Quality of life is declining while the cost of living is increasing ........... Taxes, fees, add-ons etc. are making life very difficult to enjoy for the average Bahamian income earner (less than 50K pa).

Exposed2C ....... The Chinese are slowly buying up the Western Hemisphere just as the Arabs are buying up Africa.

The West prides itself on capitalism ....... The East is beating the West at its own capitalist game.

So be it ..........

Halkitis should come clean and explain WHO will really benefit from 242 Carbon Credits, based on that law that the PLP recently passed in Parliament.
The New Day crew got rid of the SWF & set up a ghost SPV that will enrich the elite.

Say it ain't so, Halkitis.

UB has given two generations of Bahamians such a great opportunity, but the GenZ crew cannot appreciate it.

Same thing is happening with our high schools. Only immigrants can truly appreciate free education now.

Just goes to show how times have changed .........

sheeprunner12 says...

Minnis may seek to prosecute these PLPs who have blatantly sucked off the FTX teat ....... But do not expect Pintard to do anything about it.

Pintard is either on the New Day payroll .......... or deep up in Brave's ass

Can anyone who comments on this page honestly say that they are convinced that Pintard & Co. can/will lead the FNM to victory in 2026?????

If they truly believe that Pintard & Co. can, then state the reasons for your POV.

We know (for sure) that Minnis has already done that in 2017 ...... 35-4
