How can this PLP leadership look the West End/Bimini residents in the eyes and be honest with them when they did not even want Obie to get the nomination??????
How can the PLP be honest about wanting the best for GB, when they have overseen the brutal destruction of Freeport and West GB over the past 40 years???????
How can the PLP be honest in asking those GB residents for their vote when two thirds of those people live below the poverty line????? .......... and Bimini will survive because of the underground economy that thrives there ........... So, no thanks to PLP handouts.
We will hear the "great Obie" rhetoric coming from the PLP, but the GB people know the truth. It will be interesting to see who the PLP will run in the by-election, and which faction of the PLP will hold sway. We know who the FNM is going with. It aint long now.
Don't throw that term "professionals" around so loosely ........... some of these so-called University geeks are crackpots .......... Some have taught me, and I wondered what planet these fools came from.
University and college is really overrated .......... Common sense is still of far greater value than some of the "worldly knowledge" taught at these liberal institutions by some of those crackpots.
If the UB is free to do as it pleases, why does it depend so heavily on Treasury funds????
So, if our public taxes are going to fund UB (who wants to engage in LGBT activism) .......... given that MOST Bahamians DO NOT support LGBT ......... then what does that say about how our politicians and the UB Board think about our views and stance against LGBT?????
It started off great, got bogged down in politics and gimmicks. Then the business sector and the citizens felt taken advantage of and slowly, the system is falling apart on both VAT collection and enforcement.
Same thing will happen with Corporate Tax. Corruption and lax enforcement.
Was Obie pushing LGBT rights???? ....... He didn't even introduce the Bill that was intended to protect all genders from violence. That led to big outcry by certain women's groups. So his whole role was confusing.

There is absolutely no need to increase the number of MPs in Parliament, as no MP represents 10,000 voting constituents. In the USA, each MP represents about 500,000.
Senators should either be elected (one per island) OR dissolve the Senate, as it serves NO real purpose now.
The PM should be elected by the citizens ................ and some of his power removed.
Each island should have an elected mayor to run Local Govt with its own budget.
Cabinet Ministers should not exceed 12 ........... they shouldnot outnumber backbenchers.
Otherwise, our system will not improve, regardless of which gender sits in HOA.
