Just for y'all to know

A GG retires with FULL 6 figure salary & perks for life & perpetuity.

This country is carrying a heavy load by holding on to the Crown. It is totally asinine for these GG to get two and three retirement pay outs from the government for this so-called "service to country" ........ while the regular citizen has to pinch pennies to just get by each day.

It is amazing how our leaders (political & corporate) pick and choose when to compare The Bahamas with First World and when to use caricom as the preferred yardstick.

It is never a good thing when our leaders would use caricom as a yardstick for comparing our utilities.

This CEO should be fired for just saying this ......... That should make every Bahamian burn with indignation.

On BPL CEO rates company 8 out of 10

Dear Mr. Simms, FYI

The Bahamas has had LG for almost 30 years, thanks to HAI. It is not perfect, but it can work IF the central government politicians will just keep out of it.

key observations

1. Most LG reps think that they are mini MPs. Wrong intent of the position. The best persons are not elected because of this nonsense.
2. Most LG leaders are not fair & balanced in their mindset. Too much curry favoring in communities that already are jealous & intolerant of each other.
3. No public meetings & disclosure of budget funds. Even though the Act says that they must. Carry on like a lodge.
4. LG seem to take instructions from Ministers & MPs instead of serve & develop their communities first. Can't serve two masters.
5. The fraternity of Chief Councillors seem not to be united & proactive when lobbying for better terms of LG governance, budget incentives & local control. After 30 years, why doesn't LG keep 10-20 percent of road, harbour, business & real estate taxes as a part of their budget?

Mr. Simms, when you live it, you can speak to it better.

Gowon Bowe & Fidelity Bank mgmt. should hang their heads in shame, because they charge ordinary Bahamians interest rates above 15% on consumer loans.

So, if that is what they are prepared to do to get back these excessive usury fees, that's on them.

The Bible condemns usury, but our domestic banks have NO conscience when it comes to consumer loans & fees.

Bahamian smugglers have been engaged in trafficking Haitians since the 1790s during their escape to Louisiana.

Just a different place & time.

The world has just changed in its stance to human trafficking. The white people trafficked millions of Negroes to America for over 350 years. Now they are crying crocodile tears about the modern slave trade that is probably more widespread than 200 years ago.

When Charlie died, so did the plans for the National Museum at Collins House.

It's been over TEN years and the place still sits there.

This country NEEDS a National Museum, but our present politicians don't have any vision.

The PLP has always been linked to secrecy and muddying of the waters to provide cover for corruption and graft.

Simon Wilson just got a big payout from the Treasury.

And the people don't know how much of our Treasury money that he pocketed.

But he is comfortable picking on the small FI grunt workers who can't defend themselves.

Sick bastard.

Every person who works for the Government has a supervisor ....... Who holds the supervisors responsible???

This is another PLP cop out by Simon Wilson.

No sensible person should accept this BS.

The FNM MP in question is being subjected to a PLP kangaroo court case.

Keith Bell was caught red handed breaking immigration protocols on at least TWO public occasions and lying about them and using his Cabinet colleagues as alibis.

These two cases are like apples & oranges.
