If we say that honour is the most prized characteristic in the Westminster system, what is worst than deliberately stealing from the Treasury and still not admitting to it, even when you are publicly exposed?
That is why the PLP will lose the next election and continue this dishonored fake system of democracy.
Help me here ...... Is a policeman or a HMP officer a civil servant or not? They work for Govt, but they do not fit the true definition of what a civil servant really means. They do not answer to the Public Service Commission.
What the MOYSC should sponsor is that EVERY Grade 10-12 student should be a part of the RBDF Rangers program. Then we will see a change in the behaviour, conduct and discipline of these youths.
We don't have mandatory private pensions savings like other countries because the Government has not legalized it.
If the Government cared MORE about the ordinary citizen, instead of greasing their PEPs, we won't be in this savings mess. Too many ppl are living hand to mouth, month to month.
Workers should be more disciplined to save for themselves, but when self control fails, laws should mandate such things to take the pressure off the Govt.
But when the Govt has no contributory pension plan in place for its own employees, it can't force the private sector to do it. The Govt must lead by example.
What is the Bahamian REAL unemployment or underemployment rate? And how many of those working are only making minimum wage in the world's fifth most expensive country (cost of living) in the world????
What about our listless, dysfunctional, corrupt government, and high crime rate?
What about our failing SOEs & infrastructure, high inflation and struggling education system???
What about our dependence on cheap poor quality food and rising levels of obesity and NCDs????
Who is tracking the rising numbers of young Bahamians who are migrating abroad and not returning home?
