It said she have been living in the US as a permanent resident, however, it also said that her father is a citizen, which should have given her rights to US citizenship in any event. If this is in fact correct she should just go ahead and obtain her a citizenship and passport.

He is wrong in saying there is no reason for the government to stall on the FOI act, the correct statement is there is no good reason for the government to be stalling on this act. Both party has a lot of dirt to hide and don't want the Bahamian people to know what is really going on.

The problem with that story is if the people vote FNM the same thing is going to happened with the power because none of them have the vision to make the grid redundant.

If the box had a hole in it, the contractor wouldn't have insurance to cover any leakage and the PLP would only find that out after the fact.

They better get their act together before Cuba opened up to the U.S. I live and work in the U.S and at my job we have 4 layers of redundancy for power, we don't put more than 40% power on any of our Power Distribution Units in case one fail there will be another to take the place of that one until it is up. Our generators that feed them also have redundancy in case one fails, and if we loose power from the utility company we battery power to carry us until the diesel generator kicks in in the interim. My company understands that our customers needs their servers to be running 24/7, in the year 2015 the Bahamas needs to understand that businesses, hotels and residents expects the same thing. The residents may be stuck and have to live with it but some of the businesses like international banks, hotels and other service industry businesses could decide to go places where they don't have too deal with downtimes because of electricity.

I've said it before and no one in government will probably do it but they need to enhance our agriculture industry and use the illegals that have been caught to work off their debt rather than jailing them or deporting them immediately. This could work both ways because you don't have to send them home empty handed after the set time is up and that will also drive the price of produce down. Bahamians don't want those jobs anyways.

spoitier says...

The first part of your post is wrong because it would be inhumane and cause more problem to the Bahamas number 1 industry. The second part of your post makes a lot of sense, at the least make it more difficult to send money to Haiti by adding a higher percentage of tax or something.

spoitier says...

You are correct, that is why they should patch the boat first.

spoitier says...

If the hole in the boat is too big then more emphasis should be placed on patching the hole. You could bail all you want but sooner or later the boat will sink because you are taking on more water than you could bail.
