I always find confusing the statistic regarding "people who do not look for work because they feel there are no jobs" (Or is that just an excuse). Wouldn't that become a self-fulfilling prophecy? How will you ever know whether there are any jobs if you do not look? Just when you quit looking could be the very day that someone might have hired you. Don't give up or at least try to do some type of independent work in the meantime.

Okay Dr. Sands, do you have any ideas of your own? Exactly why do you think you were appointed? It's time to hear specific solutions. How are you going to get patients in and out faster? (Hopefully not by neglecting care). I'm so tired of the whiny doctor's complaints. Let us hear your long-term 'detailed' plans, sheesh!

Agreed. Cases of incest especially is just sick and depraved behavior. We can't blame the economy on everything! Don't people have a conscience anymore?

Let the law take its course. If this story is true, it's really nonsensical. What would they hope to accomplish by death threats, other than being arrested themselves?

What a shameful indictment, especially since we know these cases are under reported.

While the crime in Nassau desperately needs controlling, I strongly believe that the US has ulterior motives for its labeling. I think rating as 6th out of 10 most dangerous place is HIGHLY political (and I'm talking- American politics). I think part of it is to stop Americans from spending so much money in a destination that is so conveniently close to the US.

Here's a statewide travel advisory issued by the NAACP today advising against black people visiting Missouri. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/02/us/na…
To all the members of the NAACP and minorities in general, you are welcomed to travel to The Bahamas anytime.

I don't know why my "spidey" senses are tingling with this guy. So far I support Minnis' administration for the most part.
However, I just hope this Ambassador doesn't overstep his bounds like Ambassador Blankenship. That was a disaster!

While I am totally against allowing the Chinese or any other country coming in to "rape" our beautiful Bahamian waters, I certainly don't trust the US (especially anyone associated with the Trump administration). Trump has proven time and time again that no one else really matters to him with his 'Make America Great Again' rhetoric (well, except his bromance with Russia, but that's another story).

IMHO Dr. Minnis should be shrewdly cautious when dealing with the US and ensure that The Bahamas' best interests always comes first. We really do have a lot to offer, especially with our abundantly rich marine resources - so be sure not to bend over to American demands. Be sure it's worth our while- whatever they offer!
