I agree in a sense that the US focuses on crime in The Bahamas for ulterior motives ('most' tourists are not in danger of murder, locals are in far greater danger). If you keep up with American politics you will see that the corruption there is at another level than we can ever dream of. So I would not be surprised to learn that they are hoping for our failure for their benefit.

All that aside, I am heartened to see that PM Minnis is trying to 'clean house'. Once he commits to do that on both sides of the isle, that will be great news. I think more ideas are also needed in how to grow the economy beyond tourism and banking alone.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I think the best way forward is indeed to weed out corruption on both sides. The PLP has definitely done crap, but the FNM is not perfect either.
Well at least we can say the driver remained on the scene. That's better than what's been happening lately. I was really getting tired of hearing people leave the scene of accidents, it's a really cold act and would only haunt them for the rest of their lives. I am happy this driver followed the law despite the tragic outcome. Condolences to the family.
Does D'Aguilar have shares/investments on Paradise Island? I don't get why DD says in one breath he wants Baha Mar to have a greater occupancy and yet at the same time is 'so worried' about competition (you can tell us the truth, were you offered "support" from P.I.?).

A new company will obviously have to do something to stand out at first. It can't last forever because everyone wants to make a profit, and usually a 'big' profit these days. Something isn't adding up here... (oh, and by the way, please leave God out of politics and business).
So far, I like 'Rocking with Doc' *Minnis*. But this Doc Sands needs to put up or Shut Up. I'm sorry to say but he whines quite a bit. It feels a bit like he's still campaigning against the former administration (yes we already know they did a lot of garbage).
I like what I see from the FNM for the most part, but Doc Sands I want to hear your solutions! It's not enough just to keep complaining. You have the power to enact change *now* so what are you going to do???
I don't even think the Bahamas Government or Corporate businesses even understand what the words "Cyber Security" really mean or its implications. Not an insult, just a sad truth. That's just how backward we are now, sad to say.
It really is utter nonsense to compare Minnis to Trump. I don't think the worst politician we have to offer can compare to Trump. Minnis is a far better politician.
So far, PM Minnis is doing okay. I only hope 'Brent Symonette' is listening to the statements about NOT lining pockets (as it relates to contracts) because he doesn't have a good track record in that regard.
Guess I'm the odd one out, but I've always liked Greenslade. When speaking with him, his heart seems to be in the right place. If he was pretending to care, he was doing a good job IMHO.
Definitely sounds like the former administration left a mess. However, Dr. Sands you're in power now. What are your proposed solutions to fix it? No sense just crying about it now. What is your plan?
