Ok, I will bite. What exactly did he say here that was hot air? In fact, he seems to be saying much of what you said in another post. I will go further, forget petty politics, every concerned Bahamian should be thinking whay he is saying in this article.

You do realize that the hotels have yet to open, right? And that, Baha Mar laid off approx. 1800 people. Flying in tourists today makes no sense at all, none.

But Dawes, why do you want Americans to fly here now, when even US states are blocking each other from flying in or forcing mandatory 14-day quarantine. What good is opening up, if your population turns into Arizona, or Oklahoma, or Florida, or Texas.
As to your tax suggestion: It is not perfect, but, yes, that may have to happen, but really there is no better alternative?

Sheeprunner, what is the point of saving the economy, if your citizens end up in the hospital and you reignite the virus? Not trying to be snarky, asking truly for a cogent explanation.

Respectfully, read again, moncourcool, that was not all that he said.

The irony is that you are calling other arguments childish, when your assertions are, by far, the most infantile of them all.

You expect Neil - or the Tribune - to actually work?

In other news, the sun is hot. There is absolutely no reason to host a convention this year - either party - but especially the governing party. Host a convention for what, exactly? Any convention voting, etc. can be done from the confines of home, via social media. Political party by laws are not commandments from God that should be adhered to, or else! They are nebulous ideals that can be bent, turned and amended based on the exigencies of the political party or the country. An ecclesia, every three to four years, i smore than acceptable.

This was my first thought too.

I disagree that we are behind in "thinking", Porcupine. The problem is that the thinkers are not in position to both think and implement that what is thought. We are behind in technology, though - so far behind that it is not even funny.
