Maybe now Bahamians can stop with this insistence to open up the economy because we have to "learn to live with the disease". This great, hero nurse sure as hell isn't living with the disease, is she? Dumb Bahamians.
And you simple idiotic Bahamians still want the economy to open up because we have to "learn to live with it" and because "the cure cannot be worse than the disease" and all that nonsense. Pray tell me, what cure is worse than this woman's death. Idiotic, simple, dumb Bahamians.
This is not even remotely true and I wish commenters would stop making this specious point. If you reduce the size of the corporations/government ministries, then who will be the first to be let go? Unskilled and/or unproductive workers, right? But guess what? Because they are unskilled and/or unproductive, they will not be able to find employment anywhere else. So then, they will all go to social services and become a strain on the government - just in a different form. So, the very problem that you are trying to address will not, in fact, be addressed. By the way, don't take my word for it, when you have a change, google a variety of legitimate issues on this topic by objective economists: Heilbronner/Keyned/Riccardo/Nash all give you good insight on this issue.
Shall we also rid the country of the securities and capital markets, which, historically is more responsible for corruption, suicides, financial crisis and country failures than anything the numbers boys, locally and globally, have ever done?
You do realize that Komolafe was with the PLP, right? Then, like a spoiled brat - as are most politicians - packed her ball and pouted to the DNA when she did not receive a PLP nomination. You didnt realize? OK then.
You are close. The issue may be that Dr. Brennen was not appointed to the post of Chief Medical Officer, but was instead by-passed by his junior, and imho, the inferior Dr Pearl MacMillan. Classic FNM politics - but, yeah, only the PLP gives rewards to its supporters.

I agree with your conclusion, but not your premise. Sears correctly realized that he would never, ever be PM and, as such, chose the money.
