Mr. Williams, I likewise applaud your spirit and actions.
However, this pandemic has laid bare the plethora of societal ills in the Bahamas that have been festering for decades.
The last three generations of Bahamians have had no respect for themselves never mind their brothers and sisters.
Lawlessness and promiscuity have prevailed, our people have long since abandoned principles and morality in the pursuit of personal gratification and have perfected the art of irresponsible procreation. Hand to mouth is all we know! There is no tomorrow or next year, only now!
At some point, Bahamians must come to the understanding that there are consequences for their actions and poor life choices. It's not someone else's fault, its yours, you alone are responsible for the decisions you make, good or bad, whether or not to practice birth control, whether or not to get an education, whether or not to earn an honest living or to live a life of crime.
Bahamians need to understand that if their brothers are expected to be their keepers they have a responsibility to be their brother's keepers in return.

You could also require the developers of Snake Lakes pay to put in the proper drainage systems that should have been installed from jump instead of bailing, pun intended, their asses, and their lakes out with taxpayer money yet again. SMT!

You could have your minions at MOW clean and repair the storm drains more often than once a decade for starters.

But yinna still crucifying the government? Remember that old saying " be careful what you wish for, you might get it"
Well, we don't get it, we don't want restrictions, we don't want to wear masks and social distance, we want to be out and about, party, mix, and mingle.
So we got what we wanted, which is to catch COVID, so why are we still complaining?

themessenger says...

@UN, you hit it right on the head.
Bahamians will never get over their xenophobia of all things foreign and their hatred and discrimination towards Haitians and Jamaicans in particular. Foreigners in this country, particularly white ones, are only good for one thing in our estimations, free lunch or handouts, gimmie sumptin or what you gat fah me. An after you done gimmie what I want carry ya ass.
Lazy Bahamians think that menial labor is beneath them for the most part and won't even contemplate performing many of the tasks carried out by the Haitians, in fact, the construction industry in the Bahamas would have collapsed years ago if it weren't for Haitian labor.
Bahamians, particularly those in Nassau, have preyed on the Haitian community for decades, robbing and exploiting them at every turn, we covet the little bit that they have while cheating and stealing from each other as well.
The Bahamas long ago became a Nation of bigots, beggars, and thieves.

Another anal government decision.
"Many of the vendors at the location did not have the appropriate license to sell food, other than from their homes. To sell food from a mobile location there are additional health and sanitation requirements."
Does one not require the same health and sanitation certificate to sell food from home? Construction workers have been buying food from lunch ladies selling out the back of their car since King hatchet was a hammer.
Talk about splitting hairs, I guess someone in authority didn't get their ferl so da vendors dem did get ferled again.
