$28.3 million for more rust???? Or Water & Sewerage buying more Chinese water filters to hand out by the boat load?? More dig up, dig up, dig up coming soon, more new Chinese roads after dat.
And when did the Deputy Prime Minister or Shane Gibson for that matter become expert and qualified sufficiently in construction to award building contracts? And what was Algernon Allen and Cynthia Pratt's contribution to the panel of experts that warranted them each being paid $52,000 per year? This SHR is nothing more than a slush fund for rewarding the faithful and sending a little baksheesh to "deserving" politicians none of whom know the difference between a truss and a tie-strap.
Here is an interesting view expressed recently by Bahamian law student Marvin Coleby. Also consider the governments latest move to partner in a 2billion dollar agri-fishery venture with the Chinese in Andros.
It is also a great pity that the hurricane did not rid us of the contaminated, diseased, timeworn and rotten dead wood that serves as the government of our fair country, making way for the young, flexible and supple to grow and develop in the full and glorious Bahamian sunlight.
Another thing they obviously overlooked was the traffic fiasco they've created at the exit opposite Williams Street. Without a traffic light installed or a policeman permanently stationed there total chaos will continue to reign.
Pray tell, how will the unions shutting down the country hurt Sandals?? When the dust settles the only ones hurting will be the gullible Bahamian people who will be left holding the smelly end of the big stick the unions thought to beat Sandals & the government with.
Really??? When one looks at Mr. Chipman's performance as the head of the Public Accounts Committee or even as the representative for St. Annes, he has been less than inspiring. Do we really need more deadwood in opposition or God forbid in government?
Why don't the real Bahamian Group of Elite, aka Perry, Fitz, Allyson,Shane, Frankie & Brave dem, ably assisted by Obie Ferguson and John Pinder, buy this property. As they're all such experts on how hotel properties should be operated perhaps they could lead by example. They could perhaps rename it The Peoples Paradise Club, one thing they would NEVER have to worry about would be lack of staff productivity or union unrest. When one thinks of all the concessions they could grant themselves how could they possibly fail, the place would rival Atlantis over night & the Chinese buyer at Bahamar would have some real competition.
