@islandwarrior, you are incorrect, we have become like wild animals especially where it comes to interacting with each other, like as in I want some but you won't give it to me, so I gone take it anyway, forcibly if necessary.
I like money and sex, but I don't like to work, so I gone tief ,rob and rape.

It seems to me that despite the prevalence of all these bibles and pastors we have actually arrived at our natural state, that of wild animals.

Just what is not needed Birdie, well intentioned individuals or civic minded groups picking up behind our unruly and slovenly school children.
Back in the day cleaning the school yard and playing fields was part of disciplinary action known as detention which taught manners and developed character in our youths of the day.
You like to quote scripture Birdie, so remember that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Our people must learn to be more considerate and caring for their neighbors, stop throwing things on the ground and at each other, the country would be a much cleaner and probably more Godly place as a result.
The fact that we now have to have police officers permanently stationed in the government schools is a clear indicator of how far into the toilet our educational system is and how uncivilized our society has become.
What we really need is more role models and guidance for our misguided and impressionable youth, and no, I don't mean politicians and "pastors" we have enough of those useless deadbeats already.

Mr. Ingraham, we have no Office of Ombudsman, no Freedom of Information Act, no transparity in government, especially where the crew that's in power at the moment is concerned.
These people have for the last two years played the electorate for fools, which unfortunately many of them are.
If it weren't for whistle blowers in the various government ministries, misuse of public funds for junkets to Bermuda, shady immigration policies and government contract awards would go completely unchecked and unobserved, not that much if anything will come of these revelations anyway, perhaps a reshuffle of the cabinet.
I do however agree with you that a good house cleaning of both the government and the Civil service is in order.
Having said that I will leave you with the words of Winston Churchill on the Civil Service on the whole, "No longer civil, no longer servants!"

@Porcupine, I hate to break it to you brother, but a lot of our people are supremely stupid which is why the politicians and our richest business people continue to do it and get away with it!

themessenger says...

Unfortunately, I must agree with your outlook for the country and have likewise become increasingly cynical. With major debt and interest repayments due over the next four or five years, including government bonds, there is little to no wiggle room and the real pain is just around the corner. Let's not even add the unsecured government pensions and the crumbling NIB to the equation.
So far as cuts to education funding is concerned, it has always been the way of our governments of either party since Pindling's time to keep the population poor and dumb, nothing new here.

If you are the sort of man who would rape and impregnate an eleven year old girl, I think the forcible removal of both your testicles and penis would be a fitting penalty, in fact if it was my daughter, I would be asking the authorities for a special dispensation to perform the surgery myself, with a hacksaw blade!

To Minister Munroe I offer the same advice he gave to those that attended a political rally at which he was a speaker, "Kiss my ass and walk fast!"

And having said all that, where does the traumatized and violated 11 year old fit into Davis, Moxey & Munroe's narrative and pontifications?
The rapist boyfriend and the mother should both be jailed, he for committing the act and she for allowing him to do it repeatedly.

ineptocracy!

The phenomenon of governance or leadership by the incompetent.

A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers aka the Bahamian middle class.

themessenger says...

Our Bahamian pastors, a bunch of self-important, self-centered & self-ordained "Bishops" & "Deacons" counseling members of their congregations of both genders and of all ages on the rug in the church offices or in the back seat of the car in the church parking lot then breaking wind with their mouths from the pulpit on Sunday.
