Having to settle Cayman insurance claims is an excellent way of getting Bahamian dollars converted to US dollars. Hopefully our Central Bank and insurance regulators are carefully monitoring what's happening with our local insurance enterprises and their ever increasing need for Central Bank approval to convert Bahamian dollars to hard foreign currencies to settle their obligations arising from claims aboad, especially if affiliated foreign re-insurers are somehow involved in the settlement of those claims.

All sorts of red flags should be flying here. The likes of Sir Snake and that Greek guy certainly had more than one reason for expanding their insurance activities abroad and perhaps the big players behind Bahamas First are taking a page out of their play book.

These are indeed the kind of Bahamians who should be running our country today. But it will never happen because the IMF, World Bank, IDB, etc., and the foreign stakeholders they represent, all have a vested interest in supporting the grossly incompetent and corrupt political elite in our country. They do so as a means of raping, pillaging and plundering the Bahamian people as they go about sucking the life blood out of country for themselves in the form of higher and higher interest payments on our national debt. The resulting destabilization allows the foreign vultures they represent to buy up all of the best that our country has to offer, leaving nothing for Bahamians. The irony though, is that the IMF, World Bank, IDB, etc. seem to have persuaded the likes of Bowe and Pinder that they are our country's friends.

More frankly put, most of these billionaires rightfully do not consider it their business to interfere with Bahamian voters getting the quality of life they purchase every five years or so with their vote at the polls. And if the political system is corrupt and broken, these billionaires see it as the Bahamian people's responsibility to do whatever it takes to free themselves from the reins of the corrupt political elite. Begging from or targeting billionaires as the answer to our problems will accomplish nothing.

Problem is, we already don't have enough land for lower-income Bahamians, let alone what would quickly become a flood of highly paid billionaire-employed foreign nationals, all of whom would need housing, mainly in the Western District of New Providence which is already rapidly becoming overcrowded.

Begging Tony Gomez has spent enough time at the Lyford Cay Club to know that almost all of these billionaires detest and loathe nothing more than paying taxes, no matter in what form they may be packaged. And they have the means (and luxurious private jets) to live anywhere in our region of the world, or anywhere else for that matter, to escape being targeted for 'squeeze plays' by corrupt government officials.

The Bahamian equivalent of a good Polish joke is: "How many standing around brown suits does it take to investigate a case of attempted murder?"

And not a one of them with even a pad and pencil. LOL

Employers should refer all of the furloughed workers they do not wish to re-engage to State Public Service Minister Pia Glover-Rolle. She has recently made a public announcement making it abundantly clear that the Davis led PLP administration has every intention of greatly increasing the size of our already grossly over-bloated and very costly civil workforce.

> .......were instances where people were engaged for jobs on Election Day.....

Someone please tell Pia the election has come and gone. The truly hurting unemployed or under employed person is not just concerned about getting a deadend government job. What is this Davis led administration doing for our economy and businesses to help create decent paying jobs in the private sector?

> “There is a hold on hiring at this time until we make an analysis based on the audit of where we need to build capacity,” the minister said during the weekly press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Did she really have the gall to say "we need to build capacity"? Does't Pia know that our very costly, inefficient and unproductive civil workforce is grossly over-bloated as it is?

> “But that hiring process, which is the stream that we bring persons into the public service generally, will resume as soon as our audit is done and I anticipate that will be about June or July 2022.”

Did she really say that with a straight face? Pia has to be kidding! She should be thinking about how to best go about shrinking the size of the public sector workforce. Meanwhile, the rest of her cabinet colleagues should be laser focused on how to about creating a business environment conducive to the creation of decent paying job opportunities in the private sector.

> ".....we will continue to take on cohorts of the 52-weekers, but the plan is after your 52-weeks you will be confirmed in the service should you have no adverse reports."

Pia is making a fool of herself. Either that or she's really detached from reality, possibly bordering on deranged.

> Currently, she said officials were looking to see where these people could be placed.

Now that just takes the cake! Pia is telling us many of the pre-election hirees on government payroll are sitting home doing nothing because they should never have been hired in the first place. Yet she's now looking at where in government to place these people. Is she for real!!

Pia Glover-Rolle is an embarrassing national disgrace. She's making it abundantly abundantly clear that the corrupt Davis-led administration is looking to make our already unaffordable and grossly over bloated government even bigger.

Every dollar our country borrows today from the international lending community, along with our VAT dollars, is going towards an ever growing government payroll. And that's the reason why our already unsustainable national debt continues to grow at an ever increasing and most alarming pace.
