The letter writer is probably looking for something from the government. If he isn't, he must be living in a state of bliss with his ignorance. That letter reeks to the point it almost smells onscreen. No sane person without an agenda to get something out of the government would write this letter.
Lol. The writer here can't be serious. Visionary? I sincerely hope this letter to the editor is a joke and the writer is testing it for stand up comedy material. When countries do their murder stats, they don't edit the part that they don't like. To say that the figures are being blown out of proportion is insane. The numbers per capita exceeds that of a lot of countries around the globe. If the writer is high enough to.assume otherwise, he can simply wait umtil.he comes off his high and do.a simple Google search. I would like to tackle every point made here but that would result in a large article. This administration hasn't done much. Any statement otherwise clearly is incorrect. The lost PM needs to implement austerity measures to balance the budget. But, he seeks to continue to inflate the expense side of the budget and then starts looking to taxes to trek back to the breakeven point. With regards to doing the best for his people, I'm sure the grassroots are thriving under the 10% VAT on breadbasket items. The current PM in my mind is tied with Mr. Christie and Mr. Minnis as the worst we have had. Clearly, we know which Kool-aid you are drinking. Both FNM and PLP parties have done nothing in recent years to keep this country running. The last vision this country has had was under the late Sir Lynden. Every Bahamian should demand more from their leaders. A man such as yourself who we believe to be an intelligent individual is a collosal disgrace to put forward such a.butt kissing disconnected with reality letter. As an elder person within the community who should seek to challenge leadership.and impart wisdom, you should be ashamed of yourself.
The answer is ridiculous. He confirmed it was taken from the budget. The optics of this is really bad. If you take the money out it has to have an impact otherwise there would be no need to allocate any funds. I wouldn't say they shouldn't have something for the late Obie Wilchcombe, it's just of all the places to get the funding you go to that allocated to the disable. Wow! These guys ain't checking.
Just another issue to add to all the others. No one does their job. People can't take proper care of kids. It's no surprise that animals are not treated properly. In addition to the call for enforcement of animal cruelty laws, there needs to be a focus on people with dogs allowing them to just roam about terrorizing people. Also, people walking their dogs, very dangerous ones, without muzzles while having them on a leash but they are struggling to control. Often it looks like the dog is walking the owner rather than the other way around. Also, sometimes kids are walking very large dogs (Pitbulls, etc.) with no adults in sight. The dog is pretty much dragging the kid along. Extremely dangerous for others walking or jogging by.
Interesting logic. So, this justifies annihilation then? If you understand the rules of war, you don't attack civilians. These are war crimes. I'm sure you know this.
Ummm...interesting. There is no nation for the Palestinians, that's the first point. Second point, Hamas is labeled a terrorist organization. So, a nation should not be trying to outdo a terrorist group. Every Palestinian isn't a part of Hamas. It is very disturbing that you would condone the callous disregard for human life displayed by the Israelis. Even the US, the last ally that was silent, is speaking up. This is slaughter on a massive scale. Only a deranged person would think this is justified. Babies, little children, innocent women and men are all being slaughtered. Only a monster would agreed with that. The world should not sit back and be silent. nothing justifies the extermination of the innocent.
A really good letter. A brief history lesson fir those who don't know much about that region. A lot of people, particularly in the West, don't have a good grasp of what's happening there. Thankfully, a lot of people are seeing what's happening and are, in their way, speaking up. It's important for all of us who are good to speak up for those who can not fight for themselves. The innocent poor people of Gaza needs the entire world to condemn Israel in the strongest terms for the atrocities committed. No one would fault them for responding after the October 7th attack. However, the innocent blood of Palestinians can not be the "eye for the eye" or the "tooth for the tooth".
I strongly suggest you study history. Clearly you have no understanding of what's going on here. Annihilation is not bringing justice ti anyone harmed on October 7th. If you understood anything about the ongoing conflict and what's happening now your response would be one of condemnation. If you read anything at any point over the years, you would know Hamas is labeled a terrorist organization. All Palestinians are NOT Hamas. There are many Palestinian leaders who push for a peaceful response to the land conflict. If the Israeli government seeks to one up Hamas, wouldn't that make them terrorists. As the writer stated, Israel can do what it has always done, a targeted attack against those responsible. The response now is deliberately designed for carnage. The callous killing of innocent civilians. If you were in the Palestinians shoes you would have a clear understanding. As stated at the beginning, learn the history before you make these nonsensical statements.

Just to be clear, if I understood your earlier comments, you are advocating genocide. That's heavy and quite disturbing.
