It is good to have open dialogue but for a leader optics is very important. If the President of the US had made such a statement, he too would have been criticized by the media. Even putting aside the argument that he is leaning towards censorship, it is incredibly ridiculous to assume that the placement of an article impacts the global perception of the country. Governments have a duty to their citizens not to the Bahamas or.our PM. So, we can reasonably assume that they will have the facts no matter where an article is placed. In fact they have more information than the local.media can ever obtain. So, the PM, being the leader of this nation who interacts with other world.leaders knows this better than anyone else. So, why spend time mentioning this to anyone in the media. It seems more of a distraction from the real point, no.answer to crime, than anything else. We have a huge crime issue and an even larger economic failure. We continuously have deficits which further add to the national debt and we know what is the solution. Stevie Wonder can see that if we reduce the size of the Public Service we can get to a budget surplus. We just need a plan to get this done. So, again, the issue isn't the placement of articles it's cheap political tricks to distract from the failure of leadership.

It's good for young people to see guys like Buddy to look up to. These guys are a good picture for our little nation. It's good for the PM to promote guys like Buddy so that the youth gave positive role models. What would be even better for the PM to do is actually run the country. Come up with a crime plan and fix the economy. If he had a shred of interest in fixing the economy for example he would come up with a plan to reduce the Public Service. If he did this, we could easily have a surplus and be well on our way to reduce our national debt. This PM along with all others before him are just clowns in a suit.

SpaceX? What?! Lol. We have a terrible tourism product. We're constantly pushing sand and sea. What else we have? We don't have native shows as far as I know. We let our historical sites fall into a state of disrepair. There is next to no local.restaurants easily accessible by visitors. We have very little to offer in arts and crafts and whatever offer is usually reflective of other cultures rather than our own. We're a destination of Bahamar and Atlantis. Lol. We're a joke from a quality tourism perspective. The Minister needs to do his job and fix the broken product. Hoping tourists want to see a rocket launch or landing is utter nonsense. People come here because it's like Vegas, it's on a lot of people's wish list. But, after you've been here what's the attraction to come back? If you're a tourist who understands what a quality tourism product looks like you won't come here. There is very little here to offer for you. This isn't because our country lacks the things or can not add the things, it's because everyone too busy focus on a couple quick bucks and have zero understanding of culture and history including this Minister and all others before him.

Also, given their banner year profitwise shouldn't they be giving a nice fat dividend to their shareholders instead of putting their hands out for my money?

I see the journalist here doesn't understand the local.market or stock markets in general. First of all a rights offering doesn't give you shares. It gives you the right to buy shares at a particular price. Sir Franklyn Wilson stated that you get 10% immediately from participating in the rights offering. What arithmetricks is this? A seller is allowed to offer their shares for sale up to 10% above or below the existing market price. You can only say it's 10% if the price has already moved upwards by 10%. A seller could come to the market tomorrow and sell at $4.50. So, based on his logic this is a 10% loss.

Why are they looking for funding when they had a record year profitwise? Also, they had started a buyback. I don't recall them stopping. So, how do you have a buyback then come back with a rights offering?

It's February 15th and they're open for this new offering next week but he hasn't disclosed what the funds are for. He can't be serious! This is a fundamental part of asking for the funding. This is a banana republic approach to the financial markets. In no other country would this garbage be allowed. Journalists need to be educated in journalism and not dictation.

Let's look at the facts shall we? There is a crime problem. What is the solution for this issue? There is excessive spending by this administration and the continued fattening of the public service which is the government's largest expense. So, crime, constant deficits which increases the national debt and the constant downgrading of our credit rating and his biggest concern is where the crime stories appear in the paper? That's some good drugs. If that hit the streets and ee own it we'll be out of the national debt by the end of the week.

If you are going to a doctor and you are blindly expecting them to do the right thing, you will get screwed over. Most of them are there to make money. It doesn't matter where in the world you are. You don't have a nice house, drive a nice car and live the good life without money. A lot of them will put their lifestyles ahead of you. I'm not saying all. There are some good ones still there but most of them will kick the Hippocratic Oath out the window for a buck.
