I'm not sure if this is a good way to go with pricing. If you look at the lack of.interest for most people in government stock, this would result in perhaps a lower than par pricing. If you take into account what happens in the equity market locally, every so often someone shows up to the table offering shares way below current market value which results in a dramatic drop in other people's portfolios simply.because they probably need back to school money. I think his suggestion works in a more mature investment environment, not here.

And to the points.made in the comments above, a lot of people are not going to.invest large amounts of their wealth in government securities as they fear a potential default as some point.

You can list thousand of names for jury duty in the papers. You can send real property tax Bill's without missing a beat but you can't provide a list of who you gave contracts to? Really?! It's that complicated a process. You're awarding contracts to every Indian China and India aye? It can't be hundreds of contracts that takes forever and forever to get information on.

Let's be clear, Mr. Wilson has no intention of providing t bi is information. If this was done the public will see just what skulduggery this administration is up to. This going into that same bs pile of the $120 million a year "error" unaddressed for decades.

I think Mr. Munrow gave a good idea here. I'm a little surprised that a sitting politician in the governing party responsible for the very area being accused is suggesting this. Either I'm missing something or he's taking a very politically mature and fair posture. He probably wasn't taken to the usual political schools of most of the people around him and before him. Bravo!

I find this story off as well. Security officers are not armed. So, they are not much of a deterrent. Every family island have police officers stationed there. The government just needs to use the police resources already on island or are these 162 security officers just a smokescreen to slip some money.

The title of this article seems inappropriate. Why is it titled "Haitian" man drowns? Why can't it read "Worker" at Harbour Resort drowns?

If there is an issue within Immigration aren't there channels to.address it?

We have so many issues in this country. Can we get something right?

What kind of bs is this? How does this abuse go undetected or better yet unaddressed for years. Simple checks and balances. Why is there always a story why money walked out the door? Everybody involved from the PM all the way down the line needs to be fired. Anyone who received payment that they clearly knew they shouldn't have should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

We're running deficit after deficit every year because of a huge civil service payroll. Now we hear this bs about error. Error my backside! This was designed to.work exactly how it's working. You noticed Simon Wilson didn't say anything about determining the exact amount of the supposed decades long errors or about recovering the funds. This is gross, flagrant abuse. Every citizen or resident who pays taxes need to demand the dismissal of everybody. Every PM before the current one needs to give an account for this and the current one as well. As you see Simom said they were aware of these issues for years. Unbelievable!

In addition to firing, some folks need to be flogged for this.

This is really good. Can we also get a human sanctuary for all the homeless and abused people?

I didn't know this was a requirement, but what he's saying sounds extremely reasonable. I'm sure Bahari is making a lot more than $20.00. I'd the government says fill out this application, they price it and you pay $20, then do it. If you look at it from a proprietary standpoint, if this was a private company that owned these images, you either could not use them or you would have to get their permission and pay a huge amount for use of it. $20 paid by a handful of merchants won't lead to a lot of money in the treasury.

Lol. When OPEC initially announced their cut prices didn't spike. If I recall it dropped. The funny thing was they didn't get the demand they expected from China. So, although lower supply, there was much lower demand. Economics won that round. I guess the reporter also didn't hear the China part of the equation either.
