Is that information useful? Saying a large percentage is workplace exposure isn't helpful. Is he removing police officers, doctors, nurses, etc. from thse figures? Shouldn't he provide a breakdown by sector such as retail, banking, construction, etc. By giving this level of detail it would be better to assess the situation. If you work in Wendy's for example, is the exposure to your coworkers that creates the issue ot your exposure to customers? The way he presented this seems quite useless. They need to provide data that clearly shows what's going on.
So, they are uncertain and Bahamar and Sandals are not in play anytime soon. But, the Minister is full speed ahead. Does he talk to the mega resorts before he makes his dumbass decisions? It's like the July reopening that didn't do squat for our economy but catapulted us into very high infection rates which results in less people wanting to come here when we open. This man is a colossal dumbass.
So, we are allowing for a test that isn't so reliable. Interesting! Instead if trying to figure out how to handle the situation, this dumb Minister just simply moves from one point to the next. So, 14 days quarantine he finally got the memo just how stupid that was. So, now he moves to another half-assed idea. Why doesn't he consult medical.experts and tourism experts to see how this can be done safely? He is a textbook case of the statement, when you're dumb you're dangerous.
On this case, most people would assume that it eas.likely he would show up to the same address where the complaint was made. It would make sense to have a patrol car stationed there in the event he showed up. This is not rocket science.
Is it me or he is very incoherent? Imagine him giving orders, "I need 10 officers to go to East Street and conduct a review of all businesses in Old Fort Bay to catch criminals who areifting weights at the gym at our station".
This is why we can't solve crime. It's interesting that he said domestic violence had decreased during this whole Covid-19 lockdowns and curfews, when globally it went up. Mr. Campbell's information is consistent with what we know from the rest of the world. I'm not sure what numbers the Commissioner saw. Maybe he got it from the same source that gave him talking points for the media here.
There are two pookts for me. One, where is the Governor of the Central Bank, John Rolle, in this discussion. Shouldn't he weigh in with the advantages or disadvantages of dollarization.
In the second point, did Mr. Smith do any research to see the interest of foreign investors in Bahamian bonds. He states that Bahamian government bonds pay higher interest than US bonds. But, what anyone reading needs to understand is that the interest rate is higher because we are riskier. Further, people have noted that given our credit rating, our interest rate should be considerably higher. So, why would some foreign investor want to take a risk to buy a very risky Bahamian government bond that's paying an interest rate that is lower.than the risk you're taking. Some.people argue that the tatenshould be between 8 to 10%.
Mr. Smith is a smart man. It is quite sad that he presented such an idea that doesn't hold.water.
Seems like a lot of rambling. He complains about a bathroom, an office, democracy, voter apathy, it's like stream of consciousness.
If he was more coherent, we may have found something useful in what he said. What seems clear though is that he's not happy. Perhaps he is trying to push along an agenda to change some of the seats around the House of Parliament.

It's not nice for the previous poster to label anyone "hood rat". Based on their username, looks like I need to change mine.
A person's economic situation doesn't translate to compliance or defiance of rules. Bain Town or Lyford Cay don't define behaviour.
