The police should abide by the law. But there's a tricky thing here, as he stated with funerals In general, you have people violating the Covid-19 orders but, given the situation it's extremely difficult to break that up. From a human side, do you want to be the officers to tell everyone that some of you have to leave? Then if they don't comply, arrest them. People are at their lowest point emotionally, out of respect you'll let.it go, but at a later time remind people to adhere.

Breaking up a party or telling people not to congregate on a beach is much easier. I'm not condoning the violation of the orders. I'm simply saying there's the orders and there are situations that most people don't have the will to enforce on from a compassion standpoint.

This is a really sad story. This was a child like the others mentioned in the article. Children shouldn't be caught in the midst of adults settling scores. It's bad enough that parts of this country has turned into war zones. The few without regard for life have decided to shoot indiscriminately in the street, into homes and into occupied cars. There is no concern about innocent lives being taken. Penalties have to increase. For the elderly and children, the laws should be much harsher for violence committed against them. Society has to protect the most vulnerable.

Well, like the old saying goes "time will tell". It just seems illogical that we have a great big idea here when we have a.public education system that's I'm the toilet.

To.huild a strong natio. You have to provide your people with the tools to compete in the global environment. It's interesting you touched on the banking industry. If you are up to speed the offshore sector is a fraction nbn of what it used to be. In years to come, it will be just shadows.

Keep.in mind this is the same country that has a very low ranking in the ease of doing business. The last ranking I saw, we were behind the West Bank. There are a lot of foreign investors complaining about the state of affairs here. The issues here are not fairytales. A lot of things need to be fixed. I love my country and I hate to see that we're not reaching our true potential. It's an intellectual graveyard.

I'm not sure what the impact of this will be for Barbados. But, if they embark on this journey it would be the textbook for other nations as to what the implications are in taking such moves.

From.my vantage point, I see the monarchy part of our nations as simply window dressing. It would be good to get a lesson on what are the advantages of being a democratic monarchy vs. a democratic republic.

So, the long and short of Mr. Johnson's article here is that the Economic Recovery Committee didn't bring anything to the table.

So, once again we have a bunch of useless people sitting around the table wasting taxpayer money. Mr. JZohnsom is a complete idiot. He presented this idea as some great thing a couple of months ago. Now, he backpedaled when it's pointed out that he is a giant dumbass.

This is interesting. I assume you arevawarebifnchallenges with BPL. I'm not sure if the internet capabilities here are on par with what you are used to. Nut, the cost would be much higher than in first world locations.

Although, you my be excited about this opportunity, are there hoards of others who are? Let's think for a second, the tax opportunities have always been on the table. If this was such a grand idea, would we need to whisper in the ear of the world to show up here? Think about it, we have lots of foreign investors in this country. Tax breaks by itself won't result in businesses coming here. You are looking at this point in isolation. From a business perspective, you don't open a business for one or two customers unless they are extremely large. So, unless you're one of the big silicon valley size companies, you can't put a dent in the process.

To clarify, I'm not writing as an attack to you, it's just that if we look at the picture at the macro level, the government really didn't do anything here.

As "Amused" put it, who wants to vacation in place for 14 days? So, stay in one place for 14 days. Th e small hotels will have little or no amenities. So, let me see, you pay thousands of dollars to quarantine for your entire trip (as most people won't be here more than 14 days). All your meals have to be ordered and delivered to you. You get thr opportunity of looking out a window from time to time. Sounds great!

Lol. The vaccine is being rushed. No doubt about it. I saw in CNN the other day a medicalmexoert was a guest on a news segment. He stated that the drug manufacturers are not standing 100% behind these Covid-19 drugs. They're saying only that they will deliver something that meets FDA standards. But, the FDA head is caught up in politics. The US President wants something now and people are afraid the FDA will not do their job. It appears the FDA has already lowered their requirements for a vaccine. So, long story short, you don't know what you're going to get as a vaccine.

This process is insane. The government says that there is a building code. Theybsay you can't simply squat on land. Yet they allow for shantytowns to exist, which totally contradicts rules and regulations. If you want to build first buy the land. Then get a permit to construct according to the building code.

I intend no disrespect to Mrs. Jibrilu, but I think she missed some major points on tourism. When you're selling tourism, always keep in mind it's a product both content and packaging. Painting and cleaning up downtown helps with packaging but what about content. We have historical sites that are not being maintained. We allowed the Hilton to knock down the remnants of a fort to make room for a parking lot. The "Water Tower" which gave visitors a panoramic view of the island lies in a state of disrepair. If you go to any major city in the world you have a place where you can overlook the city. We no longer have it. What are we selling that's Bahamian? Do we have local music entertainment at nights? Tourists are always complaining that there's not much nightlife. We don't provide Bahamian theater with much frequency in a centralized location. We don't have decent restaurants serving local cuisine. These are among a few things lacking from our tourism product. It's quite sad that no one in the Ministry of Tourism seems to have figured any of this out.
