October is in the middle of the slow season. We're dependent on tourist mostly from the US. Tourism can not go anywhere unless the US economy picks up and travellers" confidence is there.
If I say the world is square, does it make it so? Before making plans and spending taxpayer money, let us be sure where things stand first people.
We started with some vision with the kate Sir Lynden Pindking. Then we went down this dark road of visionless, incompetent, arrogant, petty leaders. We can't find someone with vision and we can't get someone who can at least manage. smh
Why is it so hard to find the right people to govern these little rocks in the Atlantic? These guys make the simplest things seem so complex. Please everybody in Parliament on both sides of the aisle, do the right thing and resign.
Interesting legal sparing between these two ladies. The law is tricky, lawyers can have different interpretations. As someone not in the legal field, I find Dame Joan Sawyer's argument makes a lot of sense logically. If you take any text in isolation, you can make whatever argument you want to make. But, when you take an entire document into consideration, you get an understanding of the context which gives a better understanding of the section that was highlighted.
It would be interesting to hear Dame Anita Allen's response. These kinds of exchanges are what democracy should look like. A sparring of ideas that can lead to clarity on issues and better solutions taken. A solution to a problem that is in itself a problem as well, can not be a solution.
There's definitely a political strategy here. But, put aside that for a second and look at what he's saying. There really isn't a plan here. Pure and simple.
We're in bad shape. We shouldn't expect perfection from the PM for this crisis. A lot of leaders globally are getting their butts kicked. So, he's not alone. The difference here is he's making decisions that are totally detached from reality. They defy logic.
One challenge is this country is that our leaders usually want people around them who agree with them. I don't see the current PM as being any different. If you have people around you that have a backbone and they are some of our brightest minds, we can get better solutions. Mistakes may be made, but we would have less mistakes and less draconian measures implemented.
Like Dr. Sands said s lockdown only makes sense if you have a plan. Clearly there was no plan and there was no thought prior to implementing the lockdown. This was a huge blunder.
He seems bipolar with these orders. Maybe the man was off his meds Monday night.
To keep it respectful, leadership is key in times of crisis. A steady hand, a confident voice and the appearance of a vision beyond the horizon is what people need to see and hear from their leader. In his private circles, his fear, his concerns, his frustration can be heard. But, to a nation, he has to rise above what breaks the average man. A leader has to inspire his people and give them hope. Mr. PM, if you have it within you, listen to the words and follow the actions of great leaders around the world. In the times of crisis, great leaders emerge and weak ones fall.
It would be good for this to happen. The question is how will this be done? I believe that if we improve education in this country, you give everyone a fighting chance. If you improve the communities, you give them hope. If you add a decent healthcare system to this, you strengthen them.
I would like to see true change within this country. If every person can have a dream and are given a chance to work on that dream, we can build a better nation.

Mr. Turnquest can you and the de facto Minister (Mr. Johnson) figure out an economic plan for the country.
Hope you're not thinking of raising VAT. That's the only thing we've seen you do so far.
Can we appoint some donkeys to the Economic Reco CD rry Committee? I think we'll get the same results we're getting now.

Look, the man just allow you to get food and medicine, don't push him on car parts. Next thing you know he returns to the lockdown.
