This took long enough. Hit the road jack! Hopefully, that voice notes case gets resolved and all involved are jailed including the lawyer who was featured in most of them. It's really interesting no ine mentions the lawyer. All if them need to go to jail. The Commissioner had too much stuff popping up under his watch. The "Ine know" story don't cut it. Before we give credit to him for doing the honorable thing we must keep in mind the US may have applied pressure in certain quarters to make this happen. We know Bahamians don't resign. They stay and keep eating and drinking from the fat of the land.
This lady dramatic. Somebody nominated her for an Oscar for this performance. Let's hope we don't have to pay for a replacement for that mace. Lol. The Davis administration needs to resign. Too much stuff going on under their governance, voice notes, this latest scandal in the US, the Financial Secretary challenging a reporter to a fight outside the OPM and arithmetricks with the country's finances to just name a few. Let's hope Mr. Pintard is ready to lead. Interestingly enough it was Shanendon who threw the mace and not Pintard. He needs to step up. That statement isn't an agreement with Lincoln "waste of time" Bain.
Lincoln Bain is an idiot. Not sure who pulled his tail tomget him to speak. I agree with Mr. Pintard, focus on thr issues you think are not being addressed. Silly guy looking for political points. People should not give him an audience. With all the stuff going on in this country, the biggest thing to focus on is whether Mr. Pintard is tough enough? What a moron!
Price control on cars in the Bahamas? Really? Is that a joke? Looking at the regular gas powered cars sold here, a lot of them as I understand it are purchased from Mexico. So, if you buy a vehicle from Mexico it would be a lot cheaper than that same make and model bought in the US. But, the price tag here would be considerably larger than the price of the US model if bought in the US. Let's factor in the US dealer had to make a profit from each car he sells. So, ot further shows the large margin for a Bahamian dealer. They will argue shipping. But, shipping costs would not be so substantial as to put a major dental in their profits. They can argue Customs, but if you bought out of Mexico the pricing have to blow enough for a Mexican to buy. This means it would be substantially lower than a US buyer's price. Therefore, Customs would be a non-issue. So, they are price gouging. If they are doing that with the gas cars why wouldn't they do that with the EVs. I can't say that these companies are doing it but it seems clear the gas powered car dealers are.
Actually the PM is right. Hanging isn't a solution. No country that carries out the death penalty has shown where that is a deterrence to murder. If you look at countries without the death penalty you see a lower incidence of murders. But, if you look closely there are other things in play there. There's better education. There's better healthcare which would include mental wellbeing. There would be better policing, etc. So, while the PM is correct in his statement he must appreciate his government along with all before him have not done a good job to improve conditions within the country to minimize murders. Beyond the government, society needs to act as a safety net to deter would be criminals from committing heinous acts. I'm not suggesting vigilante justice. I'm suggesting keeping eyes open and also listening around their areas. When they realize something is wrong, alert others and collectively act to intervene or to call the police. The police when called need to respond in a timely manner. If we do these things we would begin to have less problems.
Sad to say, but are we surprised? There's always an issue. Insufficient cars. They take their sweet time to show up. They don't show up at all. They ask if they need to show up. All sorts if nonsense. They don't even execute all of the arrest warrants they receive. This is just one bug lousy group of people getting paid to continue being lousy.
Minnis keeps making points. Shouldn't Michael Pintard be the one speaking? Minnis forgot he lost the leadership race aye? If what Clay Sweeting said was true and the person was removed from the Ministry, why was Minnis making comments? You can not know what someone may do at a worksite but when something happens it is the duty if those in charge to act. It seems that happened. Minnis didn't get the memo before he spoke aye?
These incompetent good for nothing leaders we have is the issue. Like the precious commenter said cut expenses. This ain't rocket science. This government in particular is totally reckless and has zero regard for the finances of this country. There should be a Commission of Inquiry into how we have record revenue collection but keep coming up with deficits. Some people need to go to jail.
I doubt the introduction she did warranted all this back and forth. Little kids depending on how this was done wouldn't necessarily think much to it. The LGBTQI community keep pushing the envelope. At some point we need to check on their mental health. But, with regards to this story I think people just need to chill. Unless Jonquel did something outrageous, just let it go. We have bigger issues to address in this country than her introducing her partner. Everything doesn't need to be a platform for the church or the LGBTQI community to give their talking points.
