The cruise ships have not yet tangibly benefitted the properties or businesses in Nassau. We are ostensibly still closed and unable to afford staffing or make enough to cover tax demands.
Whatever happened to the large silver bar that was on display in Nassau I believe that it was foound and retrived by one of the Thompson brothers. I remember going down town and looking at it and wondering what stories it could tell - the government changed and not too long afterwards it disappeared. Is there an official accounting as to where it might be or was it just stolen and hoarded away. I hope that someone somewhere has some photos of it to share.
The salvage licence has been given to a certain Bahamian who has paid for and worked it quietly and eficiently for over thirty years. Just because he is not the one that the "NewAuthorities" feel to be the right person to have it, and since he has done all of the research for all these years - does it mean that his work put into it has to be deleted or taken over by a bunch of newbie wannabees - NO!

Downtown property tax cannot increase, we have to borrow just to pay. Thus a double expense with nothing coming in to cover either.
