I think the institutions and high net worth individuals may be fully invested at the moment. There is only so much exposure to Government debt that they can responsibly accept. We have not heard what VAT money has been used for, there are so many allegations of bribery and corruption that one's head spins, and of course huge tranches of public monies are needed to fund the BOB disaster. We have maybe reached a tipping point, whereby investors trust individual financial institutions (with no PLP connections) more than they do the Government?

Speaking out of both sides of his mouth again? Mr Miller must have been listening too much to how Vomit makes his public utterances. Would the government and its leaders PLEASE be more careful what they say when in public, because it will not be too long until nobody believes anything they say, which will be a real pity
**On Sunday, Mr Turnquest labelled the move as a “burden on the working class”, insisting the people who would have been affected the most were primarily the “workers going over to Paradise Island to work”.**
I have news for Mr Turnquest, something he may have missed in the last 6 months........
***ALL*** VAT is a burden on the working class, not just the bridge toll. It is a tax that the Government has imposed on the few working families in this country, in order to pay for decades of political mismanagement.
So Mr Christie announces that there will be talks between all parties. In light of him saying just this week that one of the parties is (in his opinion) mentally unsound, I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall when the meetings do take take place. Just how badly do we all think Christie will be at mediating ?
Hmmmm - Independence Day celebrations are only getting around 10% of what "Carnival" did? Guess the PLP's and their cronies haven't had time to spend the kick backs from that mammoth cookie jar yet. I suppose we can expect an announcement of spending lots more of our money sometime nearer to Christmas?
Exactly. You make a very good point. Just like the recent FBI indictments against FIFA, the US always follows the money, and that's how they will get the people behind the numbers rackets here.
It seems pretty obvious that the government wants no independent health care providers once NHI is up and running (More money for kickbacks and bribes to the usual cronies) Even though the lives of average Bahamians are being played with, I guess the politicians don't give a damn about new technology because (a) they don't understand it and (b) the right bribes and kickbacks haven't been paid
