Why on earth does the government need 658 acres for an airport that at most does like 45-50k visitors? And 65 million when the water and power still aint right???!!

So if someone set up a grocery store on your back lawn you're cool with it? Great to have a grocery store on your lawn but what about when you want to play with your kids? Or have a friends over? Or you have a stream of people coming through your house to get to it...?

The national average of Bahamian suicides is consistently 2 per year. By my count (and it’s super rough) we’ve had 5-6 suicides or suspected suicides and 3-4 Failed attempts reported in the tribune..since the country first went into lockdown on March 24th.. Essentially thats a 500% increase.

Minnis reap what you so...but learn your lessons too. You locked us down, people lost their jobs, businesses closed, permanently....Tourists though not a major driver of transmission are being still be messed with so much so that in spite of COVID case reductions the Bahamas is sitting on big fat "do not travel to" advisory because of your megalomaniacal flip flopping on policy. For what? In every island cases diminished with out a restriction in movement even now with 16 in hospital and no one is the ICU you impose curfews and restrictions..for something that has fatality rate of the flu...and yet morgues are still full, health system still stretched - why because people are too poor to arrange funerals and 100s of people could not get to and from or move within the nation's capital to access diagnostic care...enough is enough..

2cases in the whole country on the 1st. 2 cases out 200 tests conducted. In eleuthera the cases and Exuma the cases had only dropped before lockdowns occurred. They are only effective to encourage people not to seek tests as their community and livelihood is punished if they test positive. At this point people must push to have their freedom returned to them. The emergency powers have now been named ‘risk management orders’ - that does have ominous order to it...

Suicides up, domestic against women and children up, unemployment up, those at risk from hunger or lacking food security up, those missing life saving diagnostics up, number of children failing school and exams up, number of small Bahamian businesses closing up, mental illness up, depression and anxiety up. But yet all the government cares about is “cases” and crime going down ? You cannot run society with only two metrics...in Japan more people have now died of suicide than covid 19..

Give it up Minnis, the truth is out covid fatality risk is the same as the flu, case fatalities rates are crashing around the globe. PCR tests are over sensitive and picking up non infectious Fragments of has been cases, and well the Bahamas doesn’t t have single person in the ICU now. Your emergency powers are like a teddy bear for a child scared of dark. Grow up - the boogie man ain’t there - common sense and democracy will do....focus on getting a new finance minister and steer us out of the colossal economic mess you ve made...
