" as The Bahamas moves forward and it's more difficult to go to a bank and cash a cheque, we have to be more vigilant. It's unfortunate but I think patrons will just have to have more caution when using the ATMs."
So how is caution going to stop anything? Please explain...
Who needs honors when you have a 6-figure pension for the rest of your life? Only peasants like us have to be productive and save for retirement as National Insurance is clearly not suffice.
With Louby being in the group you expect any better? Ask him anything about human rights that ha nothing to do with Haitians, he'll either refuse to answer or give a stupid answer.
perhaps longer than 20 years, but yes it is said that within the century the Bahamas will be up to 80% underwater. Our time may indeed come to be refugees, even the Americans have taken notice.
Nationalize the port and take for it to be sold again to private holders (with bahamians able to buy shares). If that's too radical then amend the constitution and make the hawksbill creek agreement unconstitutional and redraft another agreement with similar specifics and once again sell it to private holders. The government can't run a a clinic, post office, straw market or even collect rent from under the old bridge. Government is horrible at running just about everything, including the country.
This will wreck the budget and our credit worthiness sadly. It's really like being between a rock and a dumpster fire at this point. I'd say just nationalize the damn place, but the fall out would be great... there is no good option here.
This really makes me sad and angry at the same time. Why haven't they switched to a proper POS system at least? Quickbooks point of sale, while not whollly applicable, would be better and more efficient than what they are using now. IT also would cost less than $250 per month for several terminals. It also allows for inventory management and can keep patient names, ID numbers, prescriptions etc etc.
It's not designed specifically for THAT purpose, but it damn sure can do it. Atlas it would be a stop gap measure until they get some serious funding for a better system. It would also see revenues go up.
