Gutter politics. The use of the house of parliament to attack private citizens who are unable to defend themselves. This is one of the reasons many qualified persons don't offer themselves for service in this country or simply leave. This is done by both the Minnis and now this Davis administration.
Bahamians are by in large quite gullible. People who are paid to manage NGOs and charities in the real world. The CEO of the American red cross makes over six hundred thousand dollars a year in salary before taxes. PM Davis can not be that daft or ignorant to believe that persons who manage NGOs are not paid.
Every body who is honest knows the reason tor the FNM defeat. Dr. The Hon Hubert A.Minnis. A lot of hard core FNMs did not go to the polls on September 16th.There was beneath the surface, a stunning amount of displeasure with him as FNM leader and prime minister. A lot of FNM supporters were turned off by him.
Jonathan Ash should have testified without any inducement. He should have done it in the interest of justice. This case and others prove why so many persons have a low opinion of the Bahamas as a country.
Tit for Tat politics. PM Davis is merely doing what his predecessor PM Minnis did.It of course angers FNM supporters and operatives. They had no problem with it when it was done by Dr.Minnis.
It serves as a distraction. The PLP lacks any vision or ideas to move this country forward. The FNM is in the same boat as the PLP. in that regard. The saving grace of this country is it nearness to the US and the economic embargo of Cuba. Also the chaos and collapse of Haiti. That makes Haiti unattractive for large scale tourism investment.
This practice is endemic in the public and private sector in the Bahamas. This has gone on for some time. The media here is just getting around to report it.
This is one of the factors that is driving the brain drain away from the Bahamas. Some people who are not a part of these cliques, are not going to stand to be mistreated here.
Impractical. Not achievable .This country has not had a surplus since about 1966. The late Sir Stafford Sands was minister of Finance when that happened.
This is what politics has descended to in the Bahamas. The two major political parties once in power, stop review and cancel the other parties' pet projects.
The financial secretary is neither PLP nor FNM. He is a civil servant and should be apolitical. The fuel hedge should be continue
These decisions are why this country is falling behind. The last two administrations simply stopped and cancel each other projects. The Christie and Minnis's administrations did that to each other pet projects. They did not care about the effectiveness or what the projects were intended to do. The Davis administration is continuing the trend.
Talk about tribal politics. Let him explain or rather lie about the situations with the financial secretary Wilson ,Assistant Commisioners' Fernander, Strachan and Deleveaux, The mess at the Bahamas Department of Corrections. The situation with the leadership of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.
Let him explain or rather lie about the models that justify the vat rate increase. Let him explain or rather lie about how he stopped and cancelled certain projects in the Ministry of Finance in 2017. How he had to restart them in 2019 like the Tyler Technologies project. Kevin Peter Turnquest simply was not a good minister of Finance. People with sense in the FNM know that. The campaign general of a senior FNM cabinet said that.
