Do you live in the same Bahamas as other Bahamians who use bec? no no!!! My bad- maybe you are one of the few Bahamians making over 100 grand a year and can afford to fully pay a $400 BEC bill every month on top of the other utilities that are raping the average Bahamian.
Let me break it down for you....the average house runs about $300 to $400 worth of electricity a month, then there is cable another $120 (for basic), water is another $200..oh which btw if you happen to have you own well so you don't need Water and Sewage please add an extra $300 to your light bill. Because every time that pump kicks in to draw water that's electricity being used. Then there is a cellphone or home phone which you can buy minutes so it probably runs like $50 a month. We haven't even gone to the grocery store yet or put gas in the car and already we are up to $800.
The average Bahamian makes 30 thousand a year. So sorry to say most Bahamians are always behind on BEC bills. But ummm since you seem to be able to pay all your bill one time can you come and pay mine as well.
Are you serious...SMH!!! How can you make such a silly assumption. How do you know Jr. and his buddies weren't raised better but CHOSE to make a stupid decision. I have a problem with people always blaming parenting for every sin a child commits. Yes, there are some instances where bad parenting can be blamed, but not all situations are such.
Furthermore, how do you know JR. wasn't a planned child with both parents in the home. I think you might want to sit back and check your compassion level. God forbid you have a child and "raise" them right only for them to fall into the wrong crowd. SMH- a person taking responsibility for THEIR actions does not mean to drag someone else into that. Let the accused take responsibility and any others who were involved.
The Bible doesn't say what percentage to give but it does say to give God the first fruits of your labour. Furthermore that scripture you are supposedly quoting was in reference to taxes, however if you read the rest of the passage you would see that the question was posed to Jesus in order to trap him- his response was a diplomatic one that in no way endorsed the payment of taxes to Caesar but more so to say if it is his then give to him what is his. - read a Bible cause I don't have to time give you a Bible lesson on things that are fundamental (especially if you quoting scripture).
I am in no way attempting to buy blessings, I am doing that which was instructed by God in various passages in the Bible. Giving freely and of a good heart because God loves a cheerful giver, giving a portion of that which he blessed me with. No on is saying it has to be monetary. If you are a farmer and all you have are fruits then give fruits, if you are a butcher and you have meat give meat- God will still be pleased. I was merely trying to explain to TalRussel why this situation cannot be compared to tithing in church.
I am able to work and make money so I give a portion of the money he blessed me with- that's my tithe and I speak for myself.
Until Road Traffic and the police come together and properly regulate road issues in New Providence we will continue to see these kinds of things.
There is no law when it comes to driving, any dern Joe Blow can get on a motorcycle and ride. They need to have a proper motorcycle safety course and give licenses to operate a motorcycle. And when the police see these people riding pull them over and ask for their licenses.
But of course this idea is so far-fetched because they can't even regulate the flipping cars on the road. People driving with no license, cars with no head or tail lights, no side mirrors and all kinds of other hazardous behaviour.
And I can't even begin to describe the lawless actions when driving, no regard for stop signs, pulling out corners no signals, squeezing down the sides, just because you are on a motorcycle doesn't give you the right to disregard the proper rules of the road.
Sorry to say but until these issues and more regarding road safety and issues are addressed this man won't be the last skid mark on the Bahamian streets.
Because if you believe in the Bible the money you place in the collection plate is the 10% you are required by the Lord to give. The way I look at it is if I give my 10% I get my blessings regardless of whether they use the money to buy the preacher a Benz or to pay the light bill. What they use God's money for is between them and God- I have done my part. Now that isn't to see if I see a church with extravagant spending I won't be saying something...but you get the point.
Well who are the young fools representing but the Bahamian people. The government has Bahamians right where they want them...blind and being led to slaughter like little meek lambs.
They go to these political rallies and looking for free food, TV's, t-shirts, musical entertainment and other free things. The government knows exactly how to keep the Bahamian people blinded to the real truths...throw them a few Kaliks and some rake and scrap.
Until Bahamians stop looking for the free ham and turkey and school books and pencils they will always get bamboozled. When you MP comes around, when it's election times this is when all this lip should be used.
Ask for laws that only allow for a Prime Minister to be in for 2 terms, laws that limit budget spending on certain things...instead Bahamians get hooked by legalization of flipping numbers.
My goodness...smh!! It pisses me off that when given the chance during election season to ask the pertinent questions and to make known the legitimate concerns of the people suddenly everyone quiet. Oh we got our ham and turkey, our washer and dryer, free t-shirts, and every rally is a free for all party with the winner being who can provide the best good time for all to have.
Then two years into a new term NIGGAS (and yes I said niggas because I swear that's the mentality we still have at times) want to complain.
Don't f'in complain after you already elected someone who didn't have your best interest as a country at heart. You were to busy being swung by the glitter on the surface to see that underneath was just a bunch of tin.
Another situation that needs to be regulated in the Bahamas. These motorcycle riders who ride as though there is only them on the road. Not saying this was the case but let this be a caution to others...
While that may be...they need to get the criminals off the island. You commit a serious crime don't be looking for family visit day. That's the problem with these people...they have to many luxuries afforded them while in prison. Keep it to the basic minimum to sustain life.
People working a hard 9-5 and could barely afford to buy milk, bread, cheese, and eggs. These dudes eating three times a day and ain't have to worry about BEC turning lights off or losing water cause they ain pay the Water and Sewage bill.

According to someone from the initial report on this matter, everyone whether involved or not should be made to suffer.
Just another example of how sometimes Bahamians lack compassion and in places where they need to show it the most. SMH!!!
