The question is about integrity and Trust. Those intrusted with the public's wellbeing and interest must present high moral character. Tax cheating and those that use their positions in life to get around the laws of this land demonstrate poor character and should not be elligible for public office period. On another note John brings up a valuable point, so many of these individuals are having financial issues, not paying their bills. I'm Starting to believe they have shot themselves in the foot by creating a society they themselves can no longer afford.

He's not going to investigate because he's wrong for not paying his bill. He is a Hypocrite. U cannot hold people accountable for cheating the system when u r cheating the system. The question I have is why is he and all of our politicians who neglected to file financial disclosures not being removed for official misconduct? The rule of law and good conduct must be upheld from the top down.

People lets not make this an issue of money laundering or any of that. Mr. Miller is allowed to hold 100,000 + in his mattress if he so wishes and present legal notes for payment. The issue is Trust, Integrity and overall bad character. I don't care about FNM/PLP nonsense because all hands are bloody in this corruption. The problem is integrity. Persons in government are continuously being found breaking the laws of this country or demonstrating poor character. He turns of peoples lights for not paying their bills at the same time gets away with running outstanding balances without consquences while claiming to hold unions and private citizens accountable. That's the issue here, he should be removed for misconduct along with every MP who did not report income, and Mrs. Pindling for neglecting to pay property taxes. These are character flaws found in cheaters and lyers. Nobody is perfect but this in my mind disqualifies individuals regardless of party from holding public office. Lastly, what the hell is going on with these people and their financial problems, time and time again we are discovering delinquent accounts (neglected intentionally or not). Have they priced themselves out of the Bahamas or are they just behaving above the law? Most people are struggling now but the level of financial chaos speaks to a deeper problem..

Haitianboy i agree Haitians are discriminated against, and kids born in the Bahamas to Haitian parents have no fault and should be given citizenship. But what i dont like is thousands of people coming here illegally. At some point the strain on the system is just to much. We have too many social problems the reckless breeding and irresponsible parenting of Bahamians, economic issues, including a good percentage of Bahamians living in abject poverty. We are constantly borrowing money to pay bills ( a lot due to mismanagement) and overan by criminals every where. Imagine if illegals continue to come in record numbers, add that to the reckless Bahamians we already have and imagine the nightmare that would exist in just a decade. The doubling effect of social chaos would occur, unlike controlled immigration where strategic planning can take place evualuating the skill and necessity of everyone who enters and making controlled adjustments to accommodate. Hospitals, housing, infrastructure including education can be carefully planned to accommodate population. Population growth is a problem in itself but even worse if people are coming and living in abject poverty utilizing resources without making enough contributions to balance the system the system will fail over time. Then we must factor in we live on small islands. The Government on behalf of the Bahamian people should of made all attempts to help the people of Haiti as much as possible in Haiti but secured our Country. Affluent individuals have exploited the situation and benefited but at what point does some form of controls be put in place. I would be the first to condemn anyone who discriminates or treats anyone unfairly, that's why i say assymalation must occur and all forms of discrimination must end immediately, but enough is enough.. If u continue packing people onto a boat sooner or later it will end up at the bottom of the Ocean.

There's nothing that can be done about the people that were here for decades or their offspring, government has failed to do a good job in humanely addressing illegal immigrants for so long that now Haiti exist within the Bahamas. The sons & daugthers of illegals have grown up, hold positions and vote in elections. Jean Joseph is an A hole, it takes 5 years minimum to become a U.S. citizen, his statemens are an exaggeration. The point he fails to understand is that while some controlled legal immigration is good, no nation can successfully exist if people keep showing up unannounced, unwelcomed that have no special skill or benefit to offer or such skill is already in huge supply. The flow of immigrants must be managed, filtered to address populations issues regarding resources necessary for a people to survive. My heart goes out to the Haitian people who suffer and take risk to better their life, but my compassion does not cloud my logic in understanding that exponential population growth and small islands does not work out long term. How would Jean Joseph feel if 30 homeless people where to show up at his residence in the U.S., would his mentality and compassion be the same? No he would call the cops. Jean Joseph as a Bahamian who grew up in poor run down conditions as a child that could of used some of the resources being drained, I offer u my middle finger.

People like BN need to stop telling lies and fairytails about crime, anyone who knows the street or frequents any of these communities know not only is crime not going down its 10 times worse than what's being reported. I don't even bother go certain places anymore, u can get your head blown off quickly or end up brutalized just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.. If the DPM can get robbed, what does that say about the average citizens risk of becoming a crime victim in Nassau.

Read the thoughts right out of my mind, Lady Pindling is 81, give some other qualified individual an opportunity to lead, could careless what party they belonged too. Her taxes or personal finances would not be placed in the tabliods for us to disect if she stayed out of the spotlight. When is enough enough for people, @ 81 why even put yourself in a position to deal with any B.S. Go chill out some where and relaxed, join my mom she likes her days peaceful and quiet.. Perry and them need to quit trying to find ways to give this woman another pension.

Agreed, with you and ThisOurs, but like mentioned we must do whatever it takes to get whistleblower laws past to protect these patriotic individuals from retaliation.

Absolutely agree ThisOurs, people with these financial issues should not hold these positions. The irony is these are the same people responsible for creating the inflated cost to live in the Bahamas.

The Law is The Law, regardless of status, if you evade or neglect paying taxes or for politicians refuse to report income you are ineligible for office period. These position are positions of public TRUST, how can u trust cheaters, or those who defiantly reject the rule of law as it applies to them. We lock poor people up in fox hill for months for shoplifting a can of pork and beans yet people can rob the system of thousand or hundreds of thousands and nothing happens. They should all be ashamed of themselves, many of them sit around in church multiple times a week with clear minds knowing well that they are cheating the system, yet we wonder why there is so much crime. They created this inflated overpriced society where Bahamians are struggling to keep their heads above water, now it has come to bite them in the ass..
