The objective is to stop Canadians from travelling for non-essential reasons and getting mutations of the virus. The US-Canadian trading relationship is one of the largest in the world and can not be disrupted without major economic fallout in Canada. That's just not the case with the "Sun destinations".

The Insurance Fairy; one my favourite Bahamian myths. Insurance is a business and you can bet the companies that ponied up the $1.3 Billion "boost" will look recover their loss and never repeat the episode. These government people are idiots, but they think they are so smart that they can find suckers to eat losses in perpetuity. If it was that easy we would just buy "incompetent government" insurance and get paid yearly. Problem solved.

Income taxes are withheld by employers and remitted like VAT; there is no difference. Governments do that to avoid the issue you identified.

Did you complain when the Fed started buying from corporate bonds causing an inflation in the cost of stocks and real estate? Welfare for the rich, ever popular, is the American way. The US is a Corporatocracy and the top 8 people have as much as the bottom half of the planet. All talk of socialism is propaganda plain and simple.

People aren't vacationing because they are afraid. They are afraid of a deadly virus. This fear affects their disposition and their confidence in the future. Until this virus threat is gone, uncertainty will persist, undermining the economy.
Government regulations didn't create this and they can't fix it; it's the psychology of fear.

Why is poultry "self sufficiency" even a goal? It means raising prices for all Bahamians. That's what regulations and policies means, higher import taxes on a food staple to benefit a small number of farmers who BTW need free land to be inefficient. The nonsense about the poor quality inferior chicken is just that; nonsense. USA agricultural products are better than anything this guy makes, And yes I have tried his overpriced chicken.

Why haven't the solar pioneers done any projects outside of The Bahamas? No market? Not competitive?
This is really just construction work. The underlying solar technology is readily available and simple to install.

That's brilliant! Andros can be renamed Bezos and he can give away vacations with Amazon Prime subscriptions.
People who shop at Whole Foods will think the Fresh Market is a bargain. Win-Win-Win.

I said Christ would have been called a Socialist / Marxist today. Not sure what led you to conclude what my opinion is. Reading comprehension is a very important skill. Or maybe take more time to read before retorting. I have studied Christ, the man. Not the myth religious people have invented over 2000 years.
He was a politician of the day. Predating the Nation State, religion was the politics of the day so this makes sense. By religion he was a Jew.
I haven't read the book you are referring to; the bible. You call it scripture, I call it a book. I believe railing against greed and lending would have people today calling you as Socialist. Even if your name is Jesus Christ.

I am trying to understand the cogency (look it up) of your argument. Basically it's not cogent, because you don't have the ability to reason properly. This is a fundamental lack of education and the skills that are honed during that process. Not sure if you are a Marxist but I can deduce much about your educational level; it's low.
