So basically the argument is.... "We are not junk! We are just above junk!" Very compelling indeed.

Agreed Greentea. However, this bureau does not regulate quality, only measures and standards.
Value for money will not arrive here until tariffs are lowered and the distribution system is fundamentally altered. Until then, everything will cost twice what it does in the USA. Value is fundamentally a measure of quantity vs price and therefore out of the control of this office.

From my comment about the Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality:

"The BBSQ is a solution looking for a problem; that simple. Of course there is no problem so they need to manufacture one. I heard an interview with them the other day where they clarified that 50% of the pumps tested were either over or under a set +- level. They could all have been dispensing more!!!! The person being interviewed was talking about expanding this organization to over 100 inspectors......plus support staff. This is where the VAT money is going, among other things, and why the Bahamas is being downgraded. I am sure it is all well intentioned but clearly unaffordable. Is anyone really worried that Coca-Cola or Sands is cheating them? Worried enough to pay VAT for it? Wake up Bahamas!!!"

Things like this agency are not free. This is the government selling you more government.

Wake up Bahamas!!! Once you create an organization, it wants to grow and grow and grow.
Sir Franklyn Wilson and his company are doing just fine without cheating you out of some gas. BBSQ needs to release all their findings or risk being tainted by this misinformation campaign.

Let me get this straight; Leno Corporate Services just got paid $482,667 for one transaction?
Even by Gucci ass private banking standards, this is an absolute rip off. Everyone know these worthless shares would be bought by the Government. Who else would?
So to transfer money from one pocket to the other, the Gov just paid half a million. Need we ask who owns Leno Corporate Services? I am pretty sure it isn't Jay Leno.

Since Mr. Davis is prone to overruling others in awarding contracts for municipal and government services, it stands to reason that the rest of his ministry is being managed this way.
This should absolutely terrify any Bahamian citizen that understands the scope of his responsibility and the monies being spent there. Absolutely incredible!!

The auditor for this is Paul Andy who is part of the Grant Thornton professional network; not to be confused with a global accounting firm. This is an association of "accounting accomplices" let's call them since they assist in the commission of crimes and misappropriation of funds.
This guy is an accountant in name only and probably has a degree from small college no one has heard of.
It's ok, he fits right in except he is the one claiming the high ground as an auditor. Shame on you sir! Your character is being revealed here and it does not bode well.

Chow Tai Fook is a very successful chain of Jewelry stores in Hong Kong. They definitely have the money for this deal as they are owned by Cheng Yu Tung, a HK billionaire and his family.
I view this as a positive development vs the alternative state owned enterprise.

It's news to Edison that filing papers and paying taxes is a burden on business. He thought adding a new process and tax would help business. He also thinks he represents businessin the Bahamas.
This guy lacks knowledge, and is delusional in the extreme. Without knowing his age, I would guess he is an out of touch 70 year old. Ever run a profitable business Edison?
