Bran was never a true politician. He could have possibly been the Prime Minister today, only if he could have humbled himself and shown a little more respect for his political elders (e.g disrespecting Ingraham and picking an unnecessary fight with Edison Key). His head became a little swollen as Minister of State for Immigration, and he thought he knew more than his bosses (maybe he did). Finally, accepting a Senate appointment from Butler-Turner showed extremely poor judgement and only sought to highlight his political shortcomings.
No matter what this Prime Minister says or does some of you here will never be satisfied. Tal, how do you know that no PLP's were invited to attend the Opening? SMH and SMT!
Maybe the government need to cut a deal with Shane Gibson, the recovery Czar. He can avoid Jail Time, and plead guilty to reduced charges, but also giving up the names of his cronies who shared in the missing funds.
Congratulations, Mr. Campbell! I'm sure your mother must be very proud of your accomplishments. Your rise to prominence speaks volumes of the opportunities that exist in this country for anyone who dares to try. There is just no excuse!
@Well_mudda. I don't think that I am blinded by partisan politics. I am just keeping it real, and calling a Spade a Spade. It is a pity that we can't have a civilized discussion before descending into name-calling. I have no need to curry-favor for any self-gain. I have made my money, and enjoy a very comfortable retirement, so there's very little the FNM, or any other party can do for me personally. However, I do want them to succeed in their quest to root out corruptions, and the myriad of ills that plague our country; and I'm not silly enough to believe that they are able to exceed expectations in less than 6 months in office.
Birdie, you wouldn't know the truth if it hits you smack in the face. I have read every single post of yours, since 11th. of May. You have never had one decent sentence, or even of hope for the country. All you write is gloom and doom, hoping that "our" government fails. It is one thing to be a die-hard PLP supporter, but quite another to be delusional and pretend that the PLP was not rotten to the core. When you condemn those PLP who raped and plundered the public's purse, through extortion etc., then you will have some credibility. Until then, take a vacation for the next five years, as honest politicians attempt to re-build a broken country.
This posting above is complete and utter nonsense. What "history of extremely violent and bizarre murders" are you talking about. This murder, while "extremely violent and bizarre" is the first murder on this island in approximately 5 years. I would put Cat Island's murder record up against any other island in the Bahamas, or elsewhere. We are a peaceful and loving people who welcome all visitors to our shores, irrespective or race or national origin. We guarantee that you will be as safe here, as on any other island in the Caribbean. The recent murder that occurred in North Cat Island is definitely an aberration, and not the norm.
