What a backwards comment. Why would any thinking person suggest they look forward to any particular gender filling any particular role; how about looking forward to having the most qualified person, and given the role mentioned why not also hope for an honest hardworking and not politically motivated person.

Hoping for a particular gender is a fools comment

How did nationalism become a bad word.
Do we not want to unite.

Are we to forgo our own interests in our families, communities, cities, islands and finally our nation in order of the “greater good” of the world.

nationalism is all we have as Bahamians, why would we give this up.

Let’s be honest , our dollar is not really worth the same as a usd.
Essentially nobody wants our dollars, and the peg is hurting us economically. If we dropped the peg out labour rates would, or could be competitive if not justifiable compared to productivity.
A Bahamian dollar at 50cent usd would make our labor rates more acceptable given production.

Prominent? Says who?
Royalty is the most anti democratic philosophy ever invented by mankind. Worse than dictators, worse than tyranny, worse than clerical rule; it is only blood line that determines rulers succession. No thinking person acknowledges their existence, it’s only due to Constant media coverage that the world still knows they still exist.
One is either in favour of democracy , freedoms and equality and therefor against royalty of any kind, or one is deluded to the point that they forget where and how the royals got their wealth, and the damage they’ve done around this world.
One sic organization/family. “Blue blood” is a concept that exists in the psychopaths mind.
Any thinking person would spit at their feet. There are many lesser evils that we reluctantly acknowledge in our history, however this is the only evil that for some illogical reason is still acknowledged with such frequency.
Grow up people and realize what these people are and what they done and that their rein is long since over.

I guess you can either change policy, build low cost housing, create opportunities to help elevate the lowest standards of living in a country.
Or, alternatively, you can just bulldoze their houses.

You may claim either or any actions are intended to cause or influence change of a particular kind, though the bulldozer methodology is not quite as convincing if you have not tried everything else first.

This is like confiscating or destroying the sleeping bags, cardboard boxes and shopping carts used by the homeless in the middle of winter in New York, and then saying you’re helping the homeless to find better living accommodation. Only a complete psychopath would do and claim such a thing.

There was a time that people were guided by morals, and nobody could be convinced to perform such an action, but no longer, now it is the government who convinces otherwise thinking people to do these heinous crimes. Reminds me of what history says about hitter.

"With less than three months left until the end of the fiscal year, the government has obtained $1,689.1 bn of its projected $2,648.7 bn revenue."

One has to ask what was the total spending budget, how can we be in a current position of surplus given what's been collected, and , are we at a large risk of a major shortfall?

Either they budgeted a whole lot less than they projected in revenue, or we might be headed for a big problem.

It’s like saying our ways are outdated and our laws antiquated but they’re still our laws.

They may change the law. So it’s still illegal until the law changes.

Once the law changes it’s ok.

So it seems the moral compass swings not based on what is right, but based on what a few legislators think and do.

Seems they think they are god!

Too arrogant , they deserve to be put in their place, they are our servants, not our keepers. It is the populous that should be addressed as “honourable” not these pompous leaders.

doesnt really matter who did it and why, murder is illegal, even if the victim is a drug dealer, car thief, or member of the catholic church and abusing little boys.
What does matter, is that it's getting more and more dangerous in our little islands.
And the murder of an american, even a bad american, will not help our tourism sector.
Without American tourists, we all will starve.
