Ms. Williams does realize that this is neither the United States, nor Canada?
Why are nurses, charged with the care and well-being of patients, expected to work twelve hour shifts in the first place? Why not three 8-hour shifts per day, with premium pay for the night shift, and a forty hour work week? Just because this has become the norm in some countries does not mean it is a sensible practice. I don't expect much attention is being paid to the care and well-being of the patients at this rate.
"A good model of this is the District of Columbia, which decriminalised recreational marijuana, making it legal for residents to carry up to two ounces of cannabis and own six plants" - thereby protecting the good congresspeople and senators from stiff fines and sentences if getting caught with their recreational stuff if living within The District LOL!!
Hopefully, the two top dogs will listen, for once. The capitulation must cease and we should stop putting ourselves in the position of being beholden to all these financial shark entities. Unless we get our house in order and stop the wanton borrowing and non-payback, we will forever be a weak and floundering prey.
Whatever. Sometimes the Madness takes over! I am 100% with Porcupine on this one. It would take too much time and energy to point out the perversity in your Trumposity.
A good portion of Bahamian employees get stoned on the job daily, or have a smoke on the way to work. Many of our driving accidents are probably equally attributable to driving under the influence of alcoholic and/or weed pleasures. I still feel possession of small amounts for personal use and a few plants in the garden should be decriminalized, while at the same time strict fines and penalties should be applied for driving under the influence and the work place should set its own strict rules for intoxication on the job.....
