Here we go again. A dumb law got us in the problem and now a dumber law to get us out. We will be better off without lawyers. Their answer for everything is write a law except a law that exposes what they are doing( Freedom of Information Act).
I hate VAT. I spend hours trying to put the thing together. They need to simplify it. 80% of the information requested has more to do with information gathering rather than revenue collection.
Some clients of mine who happen to be in town were totally impress. They are not easily impress when you consider the fact that they've attended concerts and carnivals all over the world. Its easy to find out the numbers. It was a paid event.
Bahamians are quick to criticize their own. I went to COB and also to a University with over 30 thousand students. The overall educational experience was comparable.
Even though Hilary may be the one of the most qualify candidate on paper ever, she still has to overcome the bias of women towards women. Women hate women leaders. Since we are dealing with ifs, If your uncle gets pregnant, he could also get maternity and pediatric care, LOL. The government is not serious about immigration.
Another idea that probably can work is hydro power. We have currents flowing all around the Bahamas. Stick a hydro generator in the middle of it and you have all the power you need. The gulf stream moves more water than all of the world rivers combine, maybe that's an option. We have high speed currents like the one flowing at potters cay dock all over the Bahamas. I do believe we need innovative thinkers to solve our problems. I commend the DNA for at least going against the status quo.
The idea is not as dumb as you may think. We have several large submarine cables between Florida and the Bahamas providing telecommunication, why not electricity. Hurricanes are a non-factor because the ocean flow is not affected by wind or rain. Another option could be to ran it via sea and land. From Florida to West End is 55 miles, then ran it along Grand Bahama to East End, from East End to North Abaco, from North Abaco to South Abaco and then to New Providence which is a mere 50 miles from South Abaco. Now you have three major island with a reliable source of electricity. BEC with a skeleton crew can be backup.
Guilty until proven innocent. If that poof takes five years then you are guilty for five years. The police administration don't like Mr.Smith because the staff like him.
Truth be told, the only way you could get the government to move is with a gun to the head. Why does it take a threat from the union for checks to be prepared. You should be paid whenever you work holidays, plain and simple. The government is the biggest breaker of the employment laws they enacted. For those with the negative commentary, how would you behave if your employer was not paying you holiday pay.
