Insurance companies hate paying out claims especially for a huge sum of money. The initial salvo always starts in the courts and ends in a settlement between the parties.
The case will most likely burn down to reasonable expectation and past history. If Diplomat Aviation has a history of paying late and not receiving notice of cancellation then they have a reasonable expectation that they are covered. This is especially so if the insurance company in question renew the policy from the date the policy ends versus the date the payment is made. I am quite sure there are numerous past case studies to draw legal argument from.
The word of God says, "you live by the sword, you will die by the sword".That statement is as powerful as when God said, "Let there be light". The Privy Council or the best defense lawyer can't change that.
When a chairman can't put his signature on what his bosses is proposing then he should resigned. Division-Divided vision is when we can't see eye to eye.
I am not a supporter of near naked women dancing in the street, but you have to recognized the draw of the word "carnival". From purely a marketing point of view "carnival" has a greater draw than "junkanoo". It may not make sense cultural but economically which sames to be foremost in the Bahamian psyche, it wins.
Freeport is a broken down Mercedes Benz. Hutchinson Whampoa has all the tools and parts to fix it but refuse to until the driver(St. George and Haewards) gets out.
1) Cut the bloated public service by 50%. 2) Sell all the government corporation( BEC, Water and Sewage, Bahamasair) and get out of the Banking business(BOB and Mortgage corporation). 3) Place a ban on lawyers running for political office. They can't get their specialty right so how in the world will they get anything else right in this country.
Government acquiring Freeport is a terrible idea. All you have to do is look at the small enclaves that not part of Freeport to understand why. Smith Point and Williams Town are surrounded by Freeport and the minute you drive past the bonded signs announcing the end of Freeport's bonded area everything changes. The roads immediately become bad, the side of the roads are overgrown. The contrast between private ownership versus public ownership is telling. Its even worst when you drive into Eight Mile Rock.
