Dawes says...

All they appeared to have done is take all the ideas of the last 20 years that have never been acted upon and put them into one document. This document in turn will not be acted on except to be able to form a new committee for each idea which of course will be filled with the same old people who have not done anything to help this country. Then all that will happen is they will make plenty money and there will be no change. I am becoming more sure that we will have to collapse completely before we can rebuild better as our politicians have neither the brains or the will to do it themselves.

Is that not an option as these mortgages are from ordinary Bahamians, whereas when the loans where from the high and mighty at BOB this option was on the table straight away and used as quickly as possible?

Dawes says...

So if i choose not to obey the competent authority nothing will happen to me? Asking for a friend. This is indicative of how useless we are as a nation. My only hope is that it brings the inevitable collapse a bit quicker as it doesn't matter who is in power all rules will be broken as and when certain connected people see fit. Then once we have collapsed hopefully we can build a better Bahamas.

Dawes says...

IF the bond offering was oversubscribed, it means the rates that were tied to the offering were too generous. Acceptance of this rate shows how bad things are and the Governments desperation for outside funds.

How is the government making any decisions with 201 locations pending? If they were all on one island (except NP and GB) wouldn't that mean a serious problem? This is all a joke as they don't have any decent information from which to make decisions so they just make them based on what they know (which has always been our Governments problem).

On the second part about drugs, it is taking so long as it always takes long for our Government to change things. It can be down to one of 3 reasons. One they are incompetent . 2 they are trying to work out how it can benefit them financially the most, or 3 they are lazy. I reckon its a mixture of all 3

Dawes says...

People are up in arms because those 3 days will do nothing. If he was serious he would lockdown hard for two weeks (i do not agree with this), but to lockdown for 3 days and then back to normal is stupid. But that is pretty much all this PM has shown since around June time.

Dawes says...

So is the contractor going to be held accountable for any economic losses people had or will it be business as usual and wiped under the rug

Dawes says...

How is this meant to help. if the numbers are out of control then lockdown for two weeks. If they aren't then no need for lockdown. From his own mouth businesses are where most cases are occurring (i would highly suspect it is Government entities), so how is allowing them to still operate going to work. We will be like this until November and then no doubt longer unless you are a tourist, as you will be exempt. All they had to do was enforce the rules from the start and it wouldn't have got this far. But at least this time he says they will enforce them (unless you are connected or live in one of those western gated communities as then you can carry on, just don't be poor or unconnected).

Dawes says...

One of the few times i agree with Davies. We should have been testing and tracing from the start. but no our Government tired to do things on the cheap and hope it would disappear. They have seriously dropped the ball. Finally enforce the dam laws, masks, social distancing and stop those parties and funerals we all see being done by people who must be untouchable for some reason.
